This isn’t a today problem. Or a new problem. It’s a consistent problem. Shame on KA for not recognizing it and addressing it. Plenty of veteran players out there that could have been the difference. Instead they invented in spineless children. This team will never succeed until they demonstrate they understand what winning professional hockey players look like. It’s ain’t most of these guys. 6 1 Quote
mjd1001 Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 If that is the exact quote, it appears he called their 'play' in the 2nd period embarassing, he didn't say the team, as in the players that constitute it, embarassing. The title of thread led me to beleieve the latter, it is more of the former. There is a big difference to me in saying "the team is embarassing" rather than "the team's play in the 2nd period was embarassing". 1 2 Quote
K-9 Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 “Embarrassing” is much too kind a word to use for this group of losers. 1 Quote

Can you clarify the difference between “the team” and “the team’s play?” I just don’t see much of a difference, but I’m open to expanding my viewpoint on the matter. 1 1 Quote

The team's play mean that in one particular period of time they did not play well. The team itself, you are saying its not their play 'for one period', but rather as a player the are embarassing. Personally...I would much rather have my boss tell me "your presentation on Tuesday was embarassing" rather than tell me "as an employee, you are embarassing". 1 Quote

HumanSlinky39 Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 Let's be clear - the team is embarrassing. Not just their play in the second period today. 3 1 Quote

IMO, his message to the team was one and the same. Edited January 12 by Slack_in_MA Quote

He realized this before 40 games. He is now at the point of verbalizing it. He’s forcing KAs hand. I can imagine Lindy having animated discussions with KA and walking away frustrated. Are you suggesting it’s the fans who got worse over the last 14 years? If so, that is completely bass ackwards. 1 1 Quote
Kristian Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 I think Lindy Ruff is becoming pretty embarassing. 1 Quote

I don't think he has any answers. It does appear that he cannot get them to keep playing with the level of play they need. He cracks the whip and gets a few periods or a game out of them and then they are right back to their preferred way of playing, which is not really playing. Just soft perimeter stuff. I'm not sure any coach would reach them though. I think it's the type of players KA has assembled together. 3 Quote
SabreFinn Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 Second half of the game was embarrassing. And the way Kraken scored goals was beyond embarrassing. Byram, Byram, Bryson and the Cozens-Thompson line, Cozens -Thompson line, Gilbert, there are players that screwed up and they should be forced to watch the goals against on repeat for a couple of hours. Absolutely amazing how bad defense that was. 1 Quote
MISabresFan Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 (edited) Nice talk Ruff, now what are you going to do about it. Maybe taking it out in the media will fix it. Maybe taking it out in the media might get you an extra year. Fix it! Edited January 12 by MISabresFan Quote

Cascade Youth Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 But even for this team it was shocking. The second period started with a power play and they were just, like, standing there. Like it was intentional. The announcers were like wtf guys? It almost looked like they were throwing the game on purpose I am telling you. Something is seriously wrong with this group. 3 Quote
