Going back to the Tkachuk hit....sort of reminds me of the Neal hit on Drury.  Once upon a time our team would respond to send a message, but this version of the Sabres is more concerned about getting to the bench to avoid any conflict

Boarded our best player and no one on the Sabres even farted in Brady’s general direction.  How dysfunctional does a team have to be to not even whisper at Tkachuk?  It’s hockey 101.  Protect your teammates.  These guys act like they’ve never heard of anyone doing it.

You know what would change Tkachuk’s behavior? An old-fashioned Bure elbow. You have to be willing to take a 1-game suspension though.
