Going back 40 years, I'm in the Navy in the D.C area (Maryland Andrews AFB) and share a house with 3 guys. Ice storm (minor it turns out) coming but local weather hypes it to death. Roommate calls and says he'll hit the store for supplies.

Get home in time to find out he bought 5 cases of beer, pretzels and beef jerky. His idea of a survival kit.  👍
