The return was underwhelming right?  A conditional 2nd in 2027.  Considering some of the other deals the Bruins made.  They got a haul for Coyle.  Which I thought was an  overpay by the Avs.  I know he has term and Brad is a true rental but I cannot reconcile the gap.  And the Carlo deal had a good return too.  Again, some term (2 years) but a good prospect and a first.

They won’t see a return on this deal until the 30s. It’s crazy to think about when you put it that way. Boston fans must be thrilled. It couldn’t happen to a greater group of people.

Leading up to the deadline all the talking heads said if Marchand moved it would have to be for a huge haul. The guy was the face and heart of the Bruins and wanted to end his career only playing for the Bruins. They gave him away at the last minute to a division rival. Insane. It will do a lot of damage in that Bruins room.

It becomes a 1st in 2027 or 2028 if Florida wins two rounds in the playoffs and he plays in 50% of their postseason games.

No. They did right by Marchand by trading him to a cup contender. He had a small list of teams that he could be traded to and he asked for Florida. They obliged. I wouldn't be surprised if they sign him back in the summer (but it could go either way). They're trying a fast rebuild. It'll be interesting to me to see how it goes. A little concerned that 2 Sabres are there now so the tank is on 😉

I read 25% but that's basically it.

Maybe he's always belonged there. They throw rats on the ice for hat tricks don't they?
