Prospects and guys on the team now. My plan is to go all veteran essentially and put together the best team with no trade clauses. The primary goal is the curse breaker. 7/8 spot. Then strategically rebuild by replacing certain veterans with young talent. Benson is the only one that stays through this that’s south of 30. This is an exorcism situation that requires experienced men with the grit to get it done. There will be no successful development of young players until the curse is broken. I'd rather our new GM do the trading. 1 6 1 Quote

Please, if you make a change bring in someone from outside the organization, and let them clean out the current hockey department and start over. Adams is head of the current 'room', but they all have input into decisions. If you are going to start over, START OVER and stop forcing the 'new guy' to keep most of what is around and below him. I think the worst case scenario is they move Adams out of the GM role but keep all of the other same guys in the hockey department and not much changes. Edited Sunday at 05:41 AM by mjd1001 1 3 Quote

Zucker with another goal; guy should of been extended for a year or two yesterday. He plays exactly the way we need with his net front presence as well general grit (hits occasionally but generally plays hard) Dahlin gets another assist as he is likely getting back spasms trying to haul the corpse of the team around. 5 1 Quote

No new GM is coming unless Adams quits or upsets the owner personally. Professionally, this is the status quo. If the owner's speech to the players in Montreal is to be taken at face value, then no big shakeup or outside help is coming. The only salvation for their careers is to demand a trade. At least for 2 more seasons until they're all grown-ups. 1 Quote

There should honestly be a board filter applied where any defence of any member of the organization gets blocked until we make the playoffs they all suck. No one deserves our effort This franchise is just taking a big sh*t everywhere 1 2 1 1 Quote

Flashsabre Posted Sunday at 05:48 AM Report Posted Sunday at 05:48 AM BLOW IT ALL UP FROM THE TOP DOWN!!! When a front office declares this season is playoffs or bust and has the team competing for the first OA pick in January then it is a complete and utter failure. Add 13 previous years of ineptitude on top and it is unbearable and inexcusable. 1 5 1 Quote

A 30+ year old Journeyman who has only scored 80 or so goals in the past 8 years of his career, is not 2nd on his team in scoring and on pace for a 30 goal season. But with this team, whatever! He has 140 goals in the past 8 seasons. He played in Minnesota for 8+ years and he had a 3+ year stint in Pittsburgh, so not a true journeyman at all. He had 27 goals just two seasons ago. He has six 20+ goal seasons, one was 30+. He is proof that there are guys who can help us. 5 Quote

This franchise has zero leadership or accountibility. And it starts with the owner. Two simple benchmarks. Benson stands out like some extremely able prospect here and on any other team he'd be good, but he'd be just another rookie. Zucker, a third line player on past teams, stands out like he's an allstar here. Everything is relative. 1 2 Quote

Sidc3000 Posted Sunday at 10:23 AM Report Posted Sunday at 10:23 AM Quote of the Fu(king season! Thank god someone in this organization said it. "We have to come to the realization that we can't be a young team anymore." - Rasmus Dahlin Even the players are realizing that this young team thing doesn’t work. I have a feeling there is going to be some very strong works for the GM at the end of season sit down with his leadership group. Unfortunately it will go in one ear and out the other. 1 Quote

He’s not spending on this failure of a hockey team anymore. Adams has his marching orders: go lean, keep costs down, take the bullets. he sold 20% of the team to cover overruns of the stadium, the state is giving him money and PSL's are covering costs also. He's not spending much at all 1 Quote
