I want to know what exactly is Lindy doing with this group? When do they call out players like Dahlin and Thompson?

I think Thompson being moved to wing was a bit of a calling out. And he responded with multiple assists. Just absolutely ate it in OT.

Would love to see it all blown up after the season and entire new management and coaching staff brought in, with none of them having ZERO ties to anything Sabres history related. But Pegula will never ever shed that much money in lost salaries.

This season is exactly the type of year that causes serious hockey organizations to do a hard reset with heads on pikes. The Sabres aren't a serious hockey organization, though.

Lindy isn’t the issue, it’s been 13 seasons in f the same *****, it’s the players. They suck.

I don't think they suck, I think we have many of the same types.... Many skilled players who don't play a solid defensive or along the boards type of game. Every game you can see it and they don't seem to be getting better at it as the season goes on. I think it's time we moved on from a couple of these guys but again i don't want Adams anywhere near these trades imo.

Pretty much the same team/players were better under Meatballs. They still sucked, but they've gotten worse. I love Lindy, but let's be objective...he isn't working. Another Adams blunder.

Ahhh.   The exhaustive coaching search that Adams conducted.   But I sure can’t blame Lindy for all of the problems.  This organization is poorly run.

Honestly, looking at our roster, who would you have on the ice at the end of the 3rd?  We are a collection of kids, and 4th liners, and a small group of quality veterans who would not be on the ice to protect a lead in the final minute on other teams. This kind of game was fine 3 years ago. It was understandable if it happened 2 years ago. That we are 4 years into Adams’s rebuild and he still has not come close to establishing the right mix of players, is either incompetence or negligence. And still he does nothing.

Nope it’s far more likely to see further extensions by Pegula than firings. He’s still living n his fantasy world.

Oh, there are galactical issues with this roster, but how is basically the same team worse under Lindy than Meatballs?

Because Meatballs never taught this team any fundamentals so Lindy basically had to undo their bad habits before trying to even teach them the proper habits.

And is still struggling to do so because their default in tight situations is to go back to their old default still

It's a loser organization. There can be NO dispute on that one. Terry Pegula owns a loser organization called the Buffalo Sabres

Up two with 4 minutes to go and to lose is inexcusable.  No matter who is behind the bench these guys cannot play with the lead.  Lack of aggressive play again snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.

To me, that wasn't mental.  Or at least not all of it.

I’m actually of the belief that this is almost entirely mental with this team. They’re incredibly fragile, and expecting young hockey players to turn this around is a bad game plan imo. There is also a collective negativity we’re all aware of that is absolutely in play here.

imo we have to ship all the young talent out (except Benson). Use them to build a veteran team that can sneak into the 7/8 spot. Get that monkey off the back.

Then start rebuilding (more efficiently and methodically) with young talent.

It’s a grim diagnosis obviously, but I think it’s the only way to ever turn this around.

That’s some kind of ninja-reverse-voodoo-logic. Blame the last coach, who got more out of arguably less, for the current coach’s failings.

Nah, Lindy isn't solely to blame. But when you replace one coach with another (and leave the roster largely unchanged), the goal is to be better under the new coach. We are objectively worse right jow than under Meatballs...by a decent margin. I'm not saying they should have kept Meatballs by any stretch, he took them as far as he could; but the coaching "search" last summer was a sham.

How many players capable of helping us don't have NMCs / NTCs AND are on teams that are looking to trade them.
