LabattBlue Posted December 30, 2024 Report Posted December 30, 2024 I’m scared. The last time the Sabres won 3 in a row….13 straight losses followed. 😱 1 3 Quote

Freeezo Posted December 30, 2024 Report Posted December 30, 2024 That game reminded me of the old defensive Ruff Alamo Lyman tallinder days 1 Quote
Big Guava Posted December 30, 2024 Report Posted December 30, 2024 Kulich starting to turn it up... Can the Sabres renaissance continue? Quote

rickshaw Posted December 30, 2024 Report Posted December 30, 2024 So we win 3 then go winless in 13 and then win 3. Imagine not blowing Avs game. A few others in that stretch and instead of a 6-10-3 stretch, maybe a 9-7-3 happens and things aren’t so brutal in terms of challenging for a wildcard. That is why it’s imperative to get games to OT if you’re gonna lose. Quote

I never understood that mentality. The goalie is part of the team. He made a lot of saves, but he had a clear view on most of them and the D did an almost decent job of clearing out rebounds. Kinda like the Lions game for the Bills, they gave up 42 points on D, but scored 48. Win and lose as a team. Simple. Quote

ska-T Palmtown Posted December 30, 2024 Report Posted December 30, 2024 Currently the Otters are on pace to make the playoffs with 89 points. To get to 90 pts the Sabres need to run things out at 0.644 pts % ... easy, right? Quote

PromoTheRobot Posted December 30, 2024 Report Posted December 30, 2024 I was at the Bills game and just watched the replay of the Sabres. Blues dominated them but the Sabres still managed to pull it out. UPL vs Binnington was the difference. 1 Quote

Once in a while you'll get lucky and win a game when you don't skate or battle for pucks. Other times you end up on the wrong end of of 13 game losing streaks. Hopefully they'll be better next game. PerreaultForever Posted December 30, 2024 Report Posted December 30, 2024 Well that was a pleasant surprise. I'm not sure how else to categorize it but maybe it's a game they didn't deserve but then again good teams win games they really shouldn't. Not saying they are a "good" team but that's a lesson in how you do it. Make the most of the chances you get. Most of the first 2 periods played in the Buffalo end but Sabres still came out ahead and then found a way on the PP. What more can you ask for? Winning is fun. I did laugh a little to myself though. Montgomery has them playing exactly the way he had Boston playing when he took the heat and got fired. Possession with limited high danger chances and limited scoring. It looked exactly the same so I guess that is the Montgomery way. 1 Quote
