He said tonight is a road game for ther Sabres and the perfect opportunity for the team to stand up to adversity. He added that the team is mentality weak and probably not capable of doing that. He also said that Adams is not a capable GM. Pegula thinks he groomed him by past assignments (one year Asst coach, Harbor Center Manager, Sabres Business Admin side of the FO, and finally the big GM spot). What a joke. They talked about the rumors of Adams not responding to calls from GMs. How can Adams expect to get fair deals when he doesn't return calls from his "peers" around the league? He should at least close the loop with these folks, even if they are low ball offers, tell them they are low ball offers. The crowd might be more Leafs fans but as of right now there are thousands of unsold tickets left. Quote

CallawaySabres Posted Friday at 05:39 PM Report Posted Friday at 05:39 PM Every time I see that lineup, I can't believe that after all these years, it is such trash. We have seen what these flowers do after a little adversity, wait until the first Leafs goal as that building will be the loudest it has been in 14 years. I fully expect tears in the postgame from at least one player... Quote

LETSTUCHINGO Posted Friday at 06:02 PM Report Posted Friday at 06:02 PM I think the Sabres are winning tonight 4-2. I have no logical reason, but since this team wasn't constructed logically, it might just happen! Quote

pi2000 Posted Friday at 06:17 PM Report Posted Friday at 06:17 PM (edited) It's always darkest before the dawn. Today is the day. Mark this date <enter today's date> 12-20-2024 in Sabres history as the day the franchise resurrected itself from the depths of hockey hell, and began it's march to Stanley Cup glory. mjd1001 Posted Friday at 06:29 PM Report Posted Friday at 06:29 PM (edited) Boston currently is holding down the last playoff spot with .559 point percentage. So what do the Sabres need to get to .560 starting tonight? A total of a 12 game winning streak. Yep, that is it, win tonight, and win 11 more in a row after that. That would give the .568 point percentage, which could, SHOULD (but not guaranteed to) have them stick their nose up to the very last, 8th spot in the eastern conference. So starting tonight, beat Toronto. Then beat Boston, then the Islanders, then Chicago, the Blues, and then Dallas. That gets you half way there by year end. Take that 6 game winning streak into the new year and build on it with the revenge win vs Colorado. Then take down Vegas, then Washington, win against Ottawa, beat Seattle, and then finally Carolina. Do all of that without a single loss, and you might be a point or two up on the last spot. Just don't lose the next one to Pittsburgh, that might drop you back out of it again. Then, do all that, and then play hockey from that point on at a 35% better rate than you have so far up to this point right now (in terms of wins/points) and you just MIGHT be the #8 seed. -OR- Just lose 3 in a row (maybe just 2 in a row, tonight and tomorrow depending on how Nash and SJ do) and you are at the absolute bottom of the league. 32 out of 32. A loss tonight and basically the Season's over...I mean, most of us realize its probably already over, but I think this weekend really seals the door shut with no chances of a miracle happening.....next POSSIBLITY of a playoff game with this franchise moves to the calendar year 2026. If the offer is not the other team's best forward plus 2 first rounders for Cozens, why should he even acknowledge the "offer"???? /s Quote
zow2 Posted Friday at 07:06 PM Report Posted Friday at 07:06 PM I blame the players mostly, but if Ruff cannot stop the streak and at least play .500 hockey, I'm going to point to him and his coaching style here as not meshing. There is individual talent on the team that would probably do well in other cities. It's Ruff's job to get them to play as a team and employ a style that works. Quote

I was under the impression they were calling to discuss... if they are calling and leaving a message saying Hey Kev... how about a 5th rd pick in 2027 for Cozens or something stupid like that then I would agree with you. If they are calling to discuss a player and a potential offer like... hey Kev, we are interested in Zucker... gimmie a call so we can talk... and he doesnt call back and at least say we are not interested in trading anyone at this point... then I have an issue. 1 Quote
