The 20-10-2 Leafs come to town to take on the 11-17-4 Sabres. The Sabres have lost 11 straight games but will be getting Rasmus Dahlin back tonight. Jordan Greenway is out long term after having surgery.

My hope....Sabres win it in OT 3-2.  Tage gets the puck on the far wall, circles behind the net, glides out on the near side just behind the close faceoff dot, lets a shot go and beats the goalie cleanly for the OT victory...sending the likely 80-90% Leaf's crowd home unhappy.

Probable reality? 5-2 loss.

Great to have Dahlin back. Don’t think it will be enough. The only thing I am certain of is that the arena will be a sea of blue and white.

 

On another note, why tf did Levi play last Toronto game? That was really stupid.

Seems we play the Leafs tough in BLo... But this team is so bad, weak and devoid of guts I dont know..I see two scenarios which I think may tell us in a definitive way about this team... Not hedging here but this is how I see it.

1. Sabres frustrated, arena packed with Leafs fans and even the bullied party can get pissed off instead of slinking and hiding... play a tough game throwing back punches everytime they are punched and winning a 4-3 game in OT. 

 

2. Sabres frustrated, arena packed with Leaf fans... dejected depressed and beaten down they do what they always do and hide... Reaves takes a run at Benson or Dahlin, no one steps up... and they get an embarassing emasculating beat down leaving the ice saying we need to be tougher, we need to play better, we just need to execute to a mix of raucous taunting cheers from the leaf fans with Fire Kevyn, Sell Terry chants mixed in... then go to Boston tomorrow and take another dejecting beating that sets them up for Christmas week in an inescapable abyss... 

 

My bet is on 2.

I hope that line can score some goals, but I fear their 'overall' play and ability to buy into a '2 way' type of play rather than run-and-gun more than ever when I see them together.

Hamilton on WGR.  He said they expect 90% Leafs fans tonight, Sabres fans have sold their tickets for tonight. 

He said tonight is a road game for ther Sabres and the perfect opportunity for the team to stand up to adversity.  He added that the team is mentality weak and probably not capable of doing that.  

He also said that Adams is not a capable GM.   Pegula thinks he  groomed him by past assignments (one year Asst coach, Harbor Center Manager, Sabres Business Admin side of the FO, and finally the big GM spot).   What a joke.   

They talked about the rumors of Adams not responding to calls from GMs.  

How can Adams expect to get fair deals when he doesn't return calls from his "peers" around the league?  He should at least close the loop with these folks, even if they are low ball offers, tell them they are low ball offers.

Hamilton is missing 1 point. Adams just like Botterill and just like Murray, constructed teams in their images. Murray's teams were mentally unwell and nuts. Botterills teams were vanilla and boring as hell. Adams teams are milquetoast and unaccountable.

It was a back-to-back early game, UPL played the previous night, Levi was playing well in the AHL, and the Amerks weren’t playing that day.
