Honestly, if anyone in the org that actually mattered took a look at the insightful, thoughtful, and nowadays rather pained conversation happening around here, it would say so much more than any petition ever could

This whole thing is pretty childish actually.  A couple of points though:

1. it’s not surprising Craig Rivet hates Pegula as he has never gotten over being fired.

2. if people got there wish and Pegula sold the team chances are about 99% that would be the end of hockey in Buffalo.

I don't believe that's true. I think Pegula wants you to believe that's true, but I don't think it is.

I’m not signing anything.  I don’t want Terry to leave, just relinquish control to an NHL hockey expert.

I'm not arguing for Pegula to sell the team. What I want him to do is act like an owner who cares and is willing to do what needs to do to get this sunk franchise floating again. Or another way of saying that is to hire a competent GM and allow him to do his/her job without interference.

If that isn't a guarantee, I'll put up with his bad ownership.  Better to have a team here, to hope to eventually get lucky and good, to have 40+ times a year NHL hockey played that we can attend in person (even if that is the 'other team'), than risk them moving.

Maybe Pegula will move Sabres to Batavia and pull from Rochester fans too. He needs a Bigger Fan base and new Stadium. That way Buffalo can ignore Sabres fans who are booing to much and Rochester can watch their Amerks play there while continuing rebuild Sabres Indefinitely. Be good to pull for Concerts from Two Cities!!!

 

Not that far for the Southern Canadian fans either. You don't fill a Stadium you can't ask a Owner to over spend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who would trust this fan base. There is a POSITIVE way to help these YOUNG PLAYERS get over this hump. Work with Lindy to build Sabres Mafia that backs the team no matter what and build a Positive Atmosphere.

At the same time yell FIRE ADAMS, that is who is responsible!

 

I truly hope Pegula doesn't read these BLOGS because if he did, TEAM would be gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He doesn't need to read this particular blog to recognize that anyone involved with the NHL, media, hockey community and fan base have little regard for him and the franchise he presides over. He may be clueless but those who follow hockey recognize his incompetence. You don't have to be an analytical maven to recognize that a generation of failure is not a performance that should be highly regarded. There are plenty of reasons why this fanbase is substantially diminished. All of them relate to his bumbling stewardship as an owner.

That would be ideal.   TP has invested heavily downtown and had a grand plan for the Sabres and the area around the arena.  Obviously none of it went to plan from the team rebuild to his wife sadly getting so ill to Covid etc…..

I firmly believe that TP wants the Sabres to succeed desperately. He is also a businessman who hates throwing money down a dry well and that’s what the Sabres have become.  

So how does TP reconcile his two needs with the Sabres?  He meddles. He sets an internal cap, has his puppet GM dump vets he no longer wants to pay (Mitts, Skinner), while buying a new scoreboard to “improve the fan experience.”  He re-hires his favorite coach while forcing the coach to keep bad assistants because he doesn’t want to pay new assistants plus the fired old assistants contracts.  

Is it any wonder the Sabres are a mess?

I am here...  I think the number 1 option is for TP to recognize what he has done isnt working and going out and hiring competent management to run the team and simply provide resources... if that cant happen I think he needs to step out and sell... that brings risk... however, I really dont think over all the NHL wants to leave Buffalo... I just dont. Maybe I am wrong and misguided, but I think they would try to look for an owner to keep the team here if he sold.

Why would you think there is any hope in that?    Selling the team and keeping them in Buffalo is a much likely outcome over Terry spending money 

 

If you are still on the fence about signing the online petition think about this for a moment.  
Lindy's presser today was him talking about how they have to start fast to quiet the oppositions fans.  It was never like this pre Terry.  leaf fans had a presence prior but more like 60-40 Sabres fans 

 A total embarrassment to the franchise BUT I doubt Terry cares.   He's just glad to see some tickets sold

Don't say they just got lucky who they hired!!!!!  He got rid of Whaley and told him to trade away 8th pick (Mahomes) because he wanted new GM to have OPTIONS. He started hiring McDermott which means he knew what the Panthers had! McDermott wanted Beane which Pegula didn't have a EGO and said YES!  That was a dangerous thing to do but he LISTENED!

 

Also he got stuck getting Eichel, wanted McDavid. 90% of Sabres fans wanted Eichel gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Wanted O'Reilly gone. Indifferent about Reinhart. Fans wanted BOTH GM's gone before Adams. Fans wanted to TANK too with FULL WGR550 support!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

 

Problem with Pegula is he was listening to the FAN BASE.

 

 

I think Sabres FAN BASE is way different than the Bills fan base. Not even CLOSE to being as LOYAL. I am a fan of both but had 12 seasons of Bills season tickets. The most I went to Sabres games is maybe 10 a year. Not even close the fan base and how loud the Bills fans are to Sabres fans. Most people were yelling at me to SHUT UP at Sabres games. At Bills games they were pumping me up to get LOUDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

You can't keep getting rid of what you draft or Trade for and those players become SUCCESSFUL somewhere else. Sabres fans are laughed at other places and scared of Bills Mafia when they Move in to others Stadiums. Has the Sabres Fans ever Donated to other Teams players funds. NEVER heard of this happening!

 

One needs to look at themselves as a Fan. I am a Bills fan first and Pegula has full support from me to Own whatever he wants in Buffalo. Changed Buffalo for the BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 18,000 seat Stadium and poor TV coverage tells me 18,000 people who want Pegula to sell should just SHIP those fans to Toronto.

back when i was in my teen years mid-70’s to mid-80’s the Sabres were #1 in this town.  They were everything. The Bills were great fun too but the NFL wasn’t the industry worth billions back then.  The NHL fanbase has eroded with years and years of losing. Feels like there’s no way out. But i would think at some point soon Terry explores selling the team to someone who will keep it here.
