My God Kevyn isn’t even functioning at this point. Please step in NHL and do something here.

Begs to question what other teams refer to as firm offers?

If they are merely spamming lowball offers for Cozens and the like then at some point I could seriously understand just outright ignoring or giving a snarky response back. No Nashville, we aren't trading you Cozens for Stamkos or to Vancouver for a 1st and Hoglander.

If I hear Dumbass say “sustainable winner” one more ***** time I’m going to scream. He’s a ***** idiot!! You don’t even know how to build a winner, let alone a sustainable one! Just shut the ***** up!

Build a winner first. Learn how to sustain it afterward. I bet sustaining it is easier than you think, once you get your head out of your ass and just try to win.

If I put my conspiracy hat on, I’d almost think they are using that as a convenient reason to not spend money.

This situation makes me too pissed off to even rant about it.

Agreed. It’s starting to feel hopeless. On the one hand, what went wrong with the current iteration of the team is not that hard to diagnose. Since April 2023, management has failed to support their young core with a commitment to winning, solid veterans, superior coaching, and bold decision making (also known as the mainstream approach to winning in the NHL). The core is still young. With the right person in charge and the right coach, this should still be salvageable.  On the other hand you have 14 years of Ville Leino, “there will be some suffering”, Pat Lafontaine, Ted Nolan, pee-pee slaps, “I’ve lost my love for the game”, Ralph Krueger, EEE, flat management, artificial disc replacement, “sustainable success”, palm trees, and “the solution is in the room”, and it’s enough to make you wonder why you invest any $$$, time, or emotion, in this vain and doomed project.
But yes, if the situation changed to the point that Adams was handcuffed from operating as a GM would normally operate then he would have a decision to make.  It's conceivable he had authority until the season started and the team floundered.

I would resign before being neutered and you would as well.  Adams should if that's the case. It's certainly fishy as hell if it's not the case.
My guess is that there is a gentleman's agreement in place with Adams.

I feel Pegula is giving him the rest of the season to turn it around, with major moves having to be okayed by ownership.

If a turn around doesn't happen, he will be terminated in April, which gives his son enough time to graduate from St. Marys. Most of their seniors have already been accepted to the colleges of their choice, mine included.
