I admit I don't know what the answer is. But I feel since Lindy agreed to be HC and keep the previous staff, promoting him to POHO and keeping the current staff is not going to be the mother*****ing answer either.

Hi. Welcome to a sports message board. Is this your first visit?

I'm surprised no one has brought up and said these same exact things, over and over, until now.

Watching the fanbase cannibalize itself and the team imploding is a form of entertainment that I am starting to enjoy.  What depths can we sink to?

I want to eat you alive.

He agreed to be Head coach, but I'm not all that sure he wanted the previous staff. Technically, if keeping the previous staff was a condition of employment I GUESS he agreed to it.  But there is a difference between "wanting" or "being fine" with the previos staff...or having "no choice" if he wanted the job. Its the 'one hand on the wheel' thing.

I feel like he doesn't want a guy like that. An actual NHL professional would want to spend to the cap and have total control. That doesn't sound like someone Terry would want based on the current iteration of this team

This is the part I have the hardest time comprehending. Full disclosure, I am not rich ... but ... Billionaires crave status. TP is already part of the most exclusive club in the world, NFL and NHL ownership. Check. If I was TP-level rich and craved status, the next step is then to have them C'hips, baby! My understanding is that rich people like to throw money at problems, so why he has not hired "the finest" people to guide this organization to multiple cups is so far beyond my comprehension.

Meh. There’s a very compelling answer. Only 2 of the last 160 playoff teams spend bottom 10. We are spending bottom 10. Is this not the elephant of elephants? Why ignore such a compelling trend? We don’t spend enough. We are too young. Those are almost certainly the reasons

If it says 98.75% likely it’ll rain and you get wet when you go outside, asking “did someone drop a bucket of water on me that I missed?”, while technically possible, seems to be a bit of a fruitless pursuit

We have a fourth liner in Tuch as our first line captain. A second line center as our 1C. We have 1oa defenseman picks who play like a 4th round pick. You have a half dozen small forward kids with zero confidence. Yeah everything is going to look bad and it’s a talent problem. We had a leadership problem when we had talent, shipped out the talent, finally fixed coaching but the talent is already gone. No veterans to pave the way.

but whoever is doing our PP needs to go.

If the team plays good hockey we talk about good hockey.

If the teams plays bad hockey we talk about bad hockey.

If the owner and GM continue to embarrass and stain the organization then we talk about that.  Especially when the hockey media outside of Buffalo is talking about it, and hockey discussion videos are popping up all over the internet on this topic.

Pretty salient

why a historically bad team wouldn’t have a historically negative board is beyond me.

I agree

Think about how mad that makes you..seeing the same thing over and over and over again with no improvement. Drives you to the point of commenting incessantly on it, eh? Can’t say I blame you

Start a new thread.  Name it "We don't have any answers" Then in the post list all the things you're positive about, of which there's no way you could know.

It'll be so great to get that convo going.

you must be the other guy

"You must be the other guy."

Is a fact?

Case in point.

Or

You agree with me that other posters are talking the same nonsense, but you should choose.

I've had some bad opinions over the years on here. I am usually anti-change.

I didn't want Ruff and Regeir fired over a decade ago.

I thought Bylsma, Housley, and Granato could have used more time.

I didn't want Botts gone as GM, I haven't been pushing Adams out the door.

I am usually VERY patient with young players. Give them YEARS before you call them busts (Cozens and Krebs are the recent exceptions, but I have kinda come around on Krebs as a bottom-of-the-Roster guy).

With all that said, DO SOMETHING!  Its obvious the current mix isn't working. Its obvious that the Roster, the front office, the development staff, or any combination of multiple things NEEDS to change.

You may make a trade and lose that trade on paper, lose it in the eyes of some fans, lose it in the eyes of media pundits. But even if that happens, you may win the trade in terms of needing to do something.

Please do something meaningful.

I guess the distinction for me where “nonsense” is concerned is that: my ability to cope with it is inversely tied to how much the particular hockey opinion is infused and backed by a professional salary

maybe it’s absurd, but I have a higher tolerance for Joe message board being seemingly off base than I do the guy being paid more money than I’ll probably make in my lifetime

It's Terry's toy. And he let his wife and kids play with it a little (designing hats n stuff, no hockey decisions of course). He wants to be the one to lead the way. He is not interested in staying in Boca and letting a top notch hockey guy be in charge. Punch has the Olean youth hockey joke going. It's apt as well as funny. I was told by someone purporting to be a friend of Terry that Terry's a good guy "but he thinks he knows things." Terry thinks he knows how to be a POHO in the NHL.
