Crusader1969 Posted Monday at 08:34 PM Report Posted Monday at 08:34 PM I'll assume Pegula will go on the cheap and promote Karmanos but who else is out there? would being an assistant GM for a successful franchise be enough? Or does he need experience being in the captains chair? if you want a guy with experience , the list will be pretty short on guys with experience and a track record of success. the top guy is probably Botterill. 😂😂😂 Quote
Flashsabre Posted Monday at 09:05 PM Report Posted Monday at 09:05 PM Karmanos or his buddy Forton or Ventura. Someone already under contract so it won’t cost Terry a penny. As seen with the assistant coaches, they are not spending any more money on new people. Remember they have to retain their lifestyle! 1 Quote

GoPuckYourself Posted Tuesday at 12:53 AM Report Posted Tuesday at 12:53 AM It has to be a GM who already has a decent resume under his belt, Ray Shero? He's a Sr. Advisor in Minnesota and they're top of the league right now. 1 Quote
PerreaultForever Posted Tuesday at 01:01 AM Report Posted Tuesday at 01:01 AM Maybe Pegula will hire Chick Fletcher and his first big move will be to trade Cozens to Philly for Ristolainen 😆 1 Quote

JP51 Posted Tuesday at 01:20 AM Report Posted Tuesday at 01:20 AM If Pegula Pegulas this it's gonna be an internal yes man like Forton or Karomanos promoting Matt Ellis or Appert to HC at somepoint and we are in the abyss for another 7 to 10 years.... i think he hates us and enjoys ripping our souls out.... if he doesn't hate us and really wants to try to improve he is still Pegula and will look to hire Drury of he is fired Quote

Sometimes it feels like that's the only possible explanation. Edited Tuesday at 01:57 AM by PerreaultForever 1 1 Quote

You literally have a better chance at winning Power Ball than not making the playoffs in the NHL 14 years in a row... it has to be on purpose... even if they used Athlon sports mock drafts they would be in better shape 1 Quote

We have a ridiculous number of former first round picks on this roster. Far more than any team I can think of and yet still, the same results. 1 Quote
Rasmus_ Posted Tuesday at 02:13 AM Report Posted Tuesday at 02:13 AM I doubt Adams will be fired. We'll get some haphazard lame assed executive statement from Pegula, that this is unnacceptable, but no change will be made. That's Terry's mindset on everything he's done in Buffalo. He wants a GM who will listen to him, but he doesn't listen to the fans who pay to fill the arena. Quote

Agreed 100% you need to try to be this bad it doesn't happen by fluke Quote

I believe he will just promote someone internally and we will get the same incestuous cesspool of nothingness and despair that we have had thru the last two decades... 1 Quote

One would think he’d land a good GM even by accident right? 1 Quote
CallawaySabres Posted Tuesday at 03:52 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 03:52 PM It won't matter, this organization has sunk below what the Coyotes had been in Arizona. The NHL does not exist in Buffalo and the only people going to games will be families taking advantage of the dirt cheap prices on StubHub. I'm serious, I actually think that hockey is dying here and may never come back. It will be like the Bandits where families can go out for a sports night once in a while on the cheap. It's hard to imagine that this has actually happened to a once great NHL fanbase. Terry Pegula was the death of this organization and has turned this city into a ONE team town (see what I did there). Farewell Sabres, I wish I could say it was a fun ride, but I would have to go back 20 years ago for that to be true. Quote

JustOutsideChicago Posted Tuesday at 05:03 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 05:03 PM In a bizarre world where ownership allows the GM to run the team with no interference, I think Chris Drury is interesting. Things in Manhattan seem to be coming to a head. Terry being nostalgic, perhaps he makes that one work. Bring back Peca to work with Lindy. Maybe make him the new succession plan not Appert. Quote
