On 32 Thoughts Pod this AM, Friedman mentioned he heard that Pegula will meet the team in Montreal. He further mentioned it’s a signal that change is coming or it’s a vote of confidence for current management. Hopefully it’s the former

Did Pegula suddenly remember he had a hockey team? Also interesting he won't be meeting them in Buffalo... or taking questions.

Changing Adams or Ruff at this point, is almost academic. Without a significant roster move, this season is #14 of 14 for Pegula missing the playoffs.

Pegula just remembered he owns a NHL Hockey team.

Edit: Looks like I am not the only one who had this thought.

Agreed that the season is lost. There is no mystery here. Going into the “make or break” year with the youngest roster in the league and with a core 12 players who were even younger on average, was a recipe for complete failure. Barring a major philosophical change that sees the organization being willing to move on from some of the youngest players on the NHL roster, we are, incredibly, poised to only get younger.

I don’t want a soon to be fired GM making a significant roster move.  Get the next guy in here now so he has trade deadline and start of offseason to do what he’s going to do.

What a ridiculous situation! A clueless owner who selects an ill-equipped person to be his GM to preside over his meandering franchise. What can go wrong? It's a clown show produced by the owner, himself.

How on earth could anyone express a vote of confidence in the current management, who on their 5th year of being "playoffs or bust" are riding a 10 game losing streak.

Oh, right, it's Pegula.

I think I finally understand Terry’s plan.  He wants a new building in Buffalo.  He wants to use a lack of fan support to give him leverage with the NHL and various governments to either move the team to somewhere with palm trees or give him a new state of the art building.

The meeting the team in Montreal is an announcement of either a new building or a potential move.

Precision is nice. Meeting the team=going to Montreal? =meeting with the team?

Meeting with the players might be a smart move. I don't know what current relationship is, but let's say it's kind of a distant father situation.

You're in trouble and your dad flies in from Vail after spending the weekend with your older brother who owns the fastest growing ski shop in Colorado, to see you in juvie, it could be big.

Also the Pegula Bills Dust might float around and land on 'em.

Had a thought on this whilst creating jokes about Pegula wanting to share smoked meats with the boys.

Is it conceivable that Lindy Ruff has been performing the same role as Kevin Adams did before he moved into the GM role?

Perhaps Lindy has been keeping tabs on everything, performing an evaluation of the hockey operations, and reporting to Pegula?

Fan fiction I suppose..

Yeah, yeah. I'd stick to the smoking of meats angle. We have room in the next edition. Make it fire!

Pegula cannot fire Lindy 30 games into year one of a disastrous Adams tenure.

This is already one of the least respected franchises in American sport. You can’t do that to a long time respected hockey man when your entire org has been the butt of every NHL joke for the better part of a decade.

But I wouldn’t be shocked if he leans in hard to his core employees and Seth Alpert gets named HC.

Firing Lindy Ruff a few months in while promoting the brother in law of his Oil and Gas partner would be an all time low for Buffalo sports.

Is he meeting the team with or without a Lindy? Adams? Forton?

I little bit worried he may be trying to go on a fact finding mission and asking if the players like Lindy, Appert, etc.

I see a reason for a Lindy to be in the room but certainly not Adams or Forton. I’m still baffled at the fact that Adams is employed.
