Stoner Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago Should NHL goal cellies be more like NFL touchdown, uh, celebrations? Quote
DarthEbriate Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago No. The simple reason is play stoppage. Orchestrating or encouraging celebrations would result in slower play and delays and it would spillover to celebrations for non-goals like the NFL. One inane part of the NFL is the celebration of a hard tackle after a four yard gain on first down. What, exactly, are you celebrating? But you can because you've got 20 seconds of downtime. In hockey the puck is still in play. Bonus reason: the Sabres give up too many goals and I wouldn’t look forward to it. Give me the occasional glass hop, or he random Satan skeet shooting his glove for silliness. But unless it’s a game winner or series-winner in OT, just huddle up and then fly by the bench. It works. Hockey is beautiful because of its speed. Next face off. Let’s go. Quote
Stoner Posted 5 hours ago Author Report Posted 5 hours ago Darth I'm not sure your logic holds up. There's time for cellies. They are just usually muted. Quote

JP51 Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago I dont care if they do or dont tbh I just dont think it is in the history of the NHL to do it... and I think at least at first it would start a lot of fights lol... I think the Foligno leap was the most expansive celebration out side of Tie Domi riding his stick... but I do think he got challenged for that one.. Quote
