JohnC Posted December 11 Report Posted December 11 I predict that the Sabres will win tonight. Desperation will be a factor. A few words of caution: I have been wrong six consecutive times. Caveat emptor. Quote

With a win the Sabres are at 28. Right now 8th in the conference in terms of point percentage are the Rangers at 29 points in 27 games. If the Sabres win tonight, they will have 28 points in 29 games, and those same Rangers will have 29 points in 28 games. One regulation win tonight and again, the playoffs look "do-able". So if the Sabres win tonight, they still won’t be in a playoff spot. Gotcha. Thanks. 😂 Quote

HumanSlinky39 Posted December 11 Report Posted December 11 They stink. We stink. Who will suck more? Given it's a home game for our beloved Sabres, I feel confident in predicting... 6-3 Rangers 1 Quote

Big Guava Posted December 11 Report Posted December 11 (edited) Good luck Sabres... A much better team who is highly motivated to kick your ass at home after the drubbing you gave them in their building earlier this season. This will end well I'm sure. Edited December 11 by Big Guava Quote

We’ve lost 7 “must win” games in a row and yet find ourselves with another. Proving, a) the ridiculous overuse of the term b) the fact the next win, *whenever* it comes, will be met with renewed talk of being “back?”. Could be today, could be next game. Hoping to make a run at it, though, because making the playoffs will never be easier. There’s just zero excuse 2 hours ago, pi2000 said: It's always darkest before the dawn. Today is the day. That Aud Smell Posted December 11 Report Posted December 11 I've never seen a more lifeless team score 5 goals than I did on Monday. Being in arena, there was something uniquely dispiriting about them. Come ON, fellas. I'm also proud to have joined the message board's communal dissent and protest by choosing a new avatar. (I think I've only had like 2 profile pics for the entire time I've been on the board.) 1 Quote

Hoping to make a run at it, though, because making the playoffs will never be easier. There’s just zero excuse Ya see right here I didn't use the terms.. "must win." In my above post. Not sure why you're referencing my post with calling out. "Must win." I hardly ever... If not outright never... Use those terms. I simply said if they went tonight things will look better, and honestly not all that dreadful. I personally do not like using or saying that a team is out of it. If there is still a chance that a team can get... Back into it... To me. That means that they aren't out of it. A win tonight means they are back into it... Or still in the playoff race. It just seems a lot of talk on this board is about how they're done. They're cooked. They're out of it for this year. My point is not only statistically is that not true of course, but with one win tonight... Things look not so bad in terms of how far you are from that last playoff spot. 1 Quote
