Sabres already have more regulation losses when leading after 2 periods this year than in the last 2 years under Granato

It's kind of mind boggling how this team was so bad at most things under Granato but among the best in the NHL at protecting leads after 2 periods.

In the last 2 years under Granato the Sabres were 53-1-5 when leading after 2 periods.

This year they are 7-2-1.

Essentially they have more regulation losses when leading after 2 periods in 10 games under Ruff than they did in 59 games under Granato when they entered the 3rd period with a lead.

Starting to sound like there will be both a change of GM and coach coming.

If I was Ruff I might just say "F this, I don't need this stress at my age" and walk away.

This team is going to give him ulcers, a stroke or a heart attack if they keep this up.

They might be taking their role as "coach killers" too literally.

And the Power Play is even worse. at 14.5% vs 16.6% for all of last year. When is someone going to fix this?

The Sabres points % under Granato was .494. Over the same period, Jersey’s under Ruff was .501. That’s 8 points, or 4 extra wins, over 276 games. This isn’t Ruff’s fault, but there is nothing from his recent history that supported he was a dramatic upgrade from Granato. If given a choice between 1.) this roster with Ruff, or 2) Granato with an improved and more veteran roster (that our owner should have insisted on and that our GM should have delivered this off-season), I would take option 2.

And where is this coming from exactly?

Nowhere, just a fact that a coach behind the bench on a team that has only become worse since he took over does not survive. And my personal thaughts that if Ruff goes then Coconut Kev will have to move aside also.

It is definitely not the way anyone wanted it to end for Ruff, and it is not over yet, but it looks bad.
