I have no more expectations, no hopes, and a strong sense that this team has once again hit the “Wall”. It's "Absolutely Curtains" for this bunch. We'd hoped they'd let slip the "Dogs of War", we had "High Hopes", instead it's been "Goodbye Blue Sky." Somehow, they "Keep Talking" yet we fans are "Lost for Words." It seems like success and this current team are "Poles Apart." Tonight may have been "The Final Cut." I guess all that's left is to "Have a Cigar." Sorry, I'm something of a Pink Floyd nut. KC Scouts Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 We should have known with the start of the season with the two horrible losses to New Jersey. Many here on this board poo-pooed it away. I thought "How can they not be ready for the start of the season?' when I should have been thinking "We aren't very good!!" 1 Quote
Indabuff Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 Unfortunately, I think Lindy's too old to make a difference with this bunch of entitled babies. 1 Quote
sabresouth Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 Boy, I sure am glad KA jumped right on it and fixed our goaltending situation. Quote

ska-T Palmtown Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 My older sister used to sit on the couch and watch every game we could (in the 80's, none of this fancy streaming hootenanny). She would keep track of the game in a spiral notebook with colored markers for the teams - just like keeping score at a baseball game ... she knew the stats - followed the team ride or die. Just texting with her, she was not even aware they played tonight 😞 "Oh ... I gave up on them" 6 Quote
pastajoe Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 Cossa is the first goalie in NHL history to come into game in relief and win in a shootout in his first NHL game. 1 1 Quote
OverPowerYou Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 My first game was the Sabres senators brawl (hence the avatar) If I could go back in time i would’ve warned myself of what was to come 1 Quote

I think Lindy is fine. I think he still knows hockey. I think he communicates well. I think that almost any coach you would bring into this situation now would fail. There are issues all around that have little to do with this coach. Or the last coach. Or the one before that. Or the one before that. Quote

"If you should go skating On the thin ice of modern life Dragging behind you the silent reproach Of a million tear-stained eyes Don't be surprised when a crack in the ice Appears under your feet. You slip out of your depth and out of your mind With your fear flowing out behind you As you claw the thin ice." -The Thin Ice 1 1 2 Quote

I expected them to likely lose to New Jersey. I expected a slow start. In no way did I expect a 7 game losing streak, 6 at home, at this point in the season to many of the teams they have lost to. By the way, a little pet peeve. Its a 7 game losing streak. OT loss, shootout loss, regulation loss...they are all losses. I have heard a few times on the broadcast them calling it a 7 game winless streak. There are no ties, its not just a 'winless' streak, its a 7 game LOSING streak. 1 1 Quote

It sounds like he's good, but not generational or anything like that. Doesn't matter; these chodes will bungle just enough wins to hurt their draft position. Are you sure? Every mock I've seen says James Hagans is the consensus #1 pick. Quote

I think I'm getting "Comfortably Numb" to it all. Maybe "One Of These Days" they will actually be half decent but not now. For this bunch we might as well "Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun" and watch it all burn as the dumpster fire it is. Kind of fitting that we got a loser point in the loser cup game. Two teams failing in their rebuilds and going nowhere. Neither team able to play any semblance of defense at all. They break their losing streak, we do not. Greenway's return made a slight difference. Johnson was trash. Malenstyn is listening to Ruff and playing hard. So is Zucker. The floaters still float. Seider nailing Peterka amused me. I've noticed the same thing in Boston where Zadorov seems to make special efforts to hit other Russians. Something about nailing your countrymen from these guys. Pity we didn't get Seider instead of Cozens. Then we could have taken Beniers instead of Power and maybe things would be a little better. Probably not. Detroit announcers were talking about palm trees and 32 Thoughts had a big thing on Buffalo and Friedman asks "why do players leave?" I think the answer is obvious. 2 Quote

I think the biggest problem now (and that is all Pegula's fault) is that too many players who have left have had great success. With that happening it makes it near impossible I think to motivate some of them here. They just think, well, worst case, I get traded and then I can worry about working hard when I get there. Not sure how any coach can deal with that any more. 1 Quote

Seider and Beniers would be ineffectual loafers here. The culture stinks and it affects nearly everyone that puts on that sweater. Nothing is changing until things get straightened out at the top. Maybe in 5 years, when they're good because they've got two #1 overall d-men pushing 30 years old, it'll become a rallying point. They'll be like Seattle, but instead of throwing stuffed animal salmon over the glass for the 3 stars of the game, they'll throw inflatable palm trees. Before every playoff game, instead of throwing an octopus on the ice, it'll be a palm tree. When Tom Brady comes to town as an announcer, they'll toss a can of heart of palm and not a *****. Quote
