Turbo44 Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 I’ve remember going to the old aud as a 5 year old in the early 70s. I haven’t watched a game in a couple weeks as they’re not worth my time nor aggravation. I hope they got boo’d of the ice again and Tuch cries about it 2 Quote
CallawaySabres Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 I actually can’t wait to hear the locker room comments, this will actually be fun I just wish they didn’t even make it to overtime, they don’t deserve a point. Quote
Flashsabre Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 This team’s ability to roll over and die is just breathtaking. I think it’s time to bring back an old Sabres favourite, “When will this team win a game again?” Quote

There just is no possible way that the Sabres can continue to trot out Adams as GM once the season ends can they? I’m sure they will probably find him some cushy job, maybe even term it a “lateral” move or even god forbid make him some type of advisor to the owner, but he can’t remain in charge of hockey operations come April. Not until Pegula fires everyone in the hockey department and has a press conference saying the next guy gets control and only has to answer to Pegula for contracts, not any other hockey moves. A lot of those guys in leadership have their opinions heard and input into the decisions on the current roster. I'd rather Adams stay on and things get worse and worse until Pegula totally cleans house. Firing adams and bringing in someone else with the rest of the hockey Department staying the same and Pegula sitting next to the new GM at practices.....that does nothing but prevents the structural moves that are need and just gives Terry more time to be Terry. Everytime I see a "fire adams" post, I am not totally against it, but I AM against it without the other changes. If Adams were fired tomorrow, but even half of the remaining front office remain, it does little than perpetuate and extend the futility. Without sweeping change, firing Adams is a bad move because it changes little. Edited December 10 by mjd1001 Quote

And is he a generational or even semi generational type talent? I’m guessing not with our luck. Porter Martone is the current projected #1. It sounds like he's good, but not generational or anything like that. Doesn't matter; these chodes will bungle just enough wins to hurt their draft position. 1 Quote
Indabuff Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 The worst part about this, to me, is that I've always admired Lindy when he was the coach here and now he's associated with this pile of *****. The players always played hard for this guy and this bunch of ***** are just tarnishing that memory. 5 2 Quote

I’ve been screaming that for the last 3-4 years. I don’t know how people actually waste their hard earned money on this crap and these guys that care less about the outcome of a game than you, the paying fan does. Quote

Indabuff Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 And ***** these post game interviews with these players. I don't want to hear the same ***** from these ***** four times a week. Same excuses for the last decade plus. Quote
Indabuff Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 Sorry for the ranting. It's just beyond frustrating at this point. 3 1 1 Quote
Wyldnwoody44 Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 I'm in NYC, I got back to my apartment in time to turn on OT and the SO Wow, ouch Lucky for me I got a nice Bodega Hero sandwich and some Tonkatsu ramen and life is good. These bums don't deserve our emotion. 2 2 Quote
Carmel Corn Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 There’s a Pink Floyd song called Comfortably Numb…..and that’s where I am starting to drift to…..numb to the never ending failure and disappointment of this team. I have no more expectations, no hopes, and a strong sense that this team has once again hit the “Wall”. Quote
thewookie1 Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 Literally the only positive we can get from this game was we got another point and Greenway looked good. However Peterka has a Boa Constrictor around his neck and Tuch looks exasperated Quote

zow2 Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 In these meltdowns, Do they even try to score in the 3rd period? or do they just allow the opponent to dictate everything and turtle in the fetal position waiting for the inevitable collapse? it’s such a mentally weak team. Just embarrassing for a tough gritty city. I’ve harped on the home losses for years and they just can’t solve it. No one fears coming to our arena. 1 Quote

CallawaySabres Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 The way you have to look at it and not be frustrated is that it didn’t even matter if Buffalo hadwon tonight. This team is not good and they won’t be good at any point in the near future. even if they went on a 10 game win streak right now, it would not mean anything. You can clearly see that there is no talent on this team. 1 Quote
Slack_in_MA Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 I'm honestly beyond the point of exasperation. I've replaced it with a fascination of what will be done about it and how long it will take until we get there. 1 Quote
rickshaw Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 59 years old. Have friends texting me asking what’s wrong with this team. I tell them they’re all cookie cutter players on the same team. Told him I honestly don’t care anymore and won’t give my emotion to them again until/if they make playoffs. Quote

As I approach 60 I have started to think of my mortality and also this team has sucked the life out of me. I grew up absolutely a die hard fan of this team. Still not sure why I hang on ? The ownership and management give me no reason to have hope. The players just seem indifferent. 😐 1 Quote
mjd1001 Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 I know the league had less teams in the past and it was easier to make the playoff (14 out of 21 making it at one point was kinda a joke) but before Pegula, it wasn't always that easy...they expanded and it became harder before he took over. With that in mind... The Sabres Franchise: Started 40 years under owners other than Terry Pegula, made the playoffs 29 times, they missed the playoffs 11 times in those 40 years. Since the first full season Pegula took over: Its looking like 14 out of 14 years with no playoffs. They already exceed the the total time, in the history of the franchise they missed the playoffs, since the first season pegula was owner. 11 out of 14 years (including this) they got 50% of points of less, and that means a losing record as you now get points for ot losses. Only 1 other time in the history of this franchise did they miss the playoffs for more than 2 years in a row....that was the time they missed it 3 years in a row when the Owners of the team were arrested and the league took over running the team. The Gm was practically not even Allowed to make moves for part of that time. Basically, they practically had NO owner the only time in their history they missed 3 times in a row. Now they are heading for 14 in a row. There is no doubt in my mind...the Terry Pegula ownership of the Sabres is the worst period of ownership of any major north american sport in modern history. And at this point I don't think its even close. MAYBE the Saints from the 1960's to the 1980's? But in the NFL, it was harder to make the playoffs than even now in the NHL. 2 1 2 Quote
