You can do whatever you want to do.

See what I mean?  It sucks when people act like you're trying to sensor them, when you're just giving your view.

It's a big world.  I have a dozen friends and family members that won't come here because it's non stop Sabres hate and the same exact things being said.  It doesn't make you a hero.  And I'm going to voice that opinion.

I think they are booing the results on the ice.

It is a distinction with a difference.  It is directed at the organization as a whole, not the players effort, not the coaches effort, not the GMs effort, not the owner.  It is a response to the collective results and 14yrs of suffering.

I'm so glad that you posted this and phrased it the way you did.  I'm not directing this at you Sir but just using your post.

This is where I think we're wrong as a fan base.  This isn't the bottom and I don't think we should be treating this team like it.  Here, at the rink, or anywhere.

I mean, some people saying they'd rather Buffalo lose the Sabres because we have this team?  To me, that means we've lost our hockey IQ.

It might not be the bottom, but it is nowhere near the top. In fact, we can’t even see the top from this far down.

Noone said they want to lose the team.  A few have said, including me, that given the evidence that the current owner is unable to figure out how to run a winning team, there is no risk in losing the team.  Another difference with distinction.

Context are hard.

I follow English Premier Football and the fans there do and will revolt if they’re not happy. But it takes a organized group of fans to make their statement. I truly believe that if enough people in Buffalo organized a protest and or revolt, whatever, it would send a message.
But as another poster said, who has the time and more importantly, the energy to do this?

Pegula needs to know fans are fed up. Stop buying tickets. Revolt. Organize. Get his attention. (Easy for me living in B.C., I know)

The downside to this could be a be careful what you wish for scenario, where he sells and someone relocated the team.

I remember when KA drafted Quinn over Rossi and we all gasped. A microcosm of terrible management.

Rossi is 5'9" and 180 lbs.  Fans here would have complained about his size.

After 13 years of no playoffs, if it takes a fan revolt to get the hint that we are unhappy, do we really want that guy as owner?

My hockey IQ is just fine (whatever that means), and I would rather not have a team than have one that doesn’t try to win.

Also, anyone who doesn’t like this thread is welcome to not click on it.

Nice try at trying to curb the argument.  That's different than highlighting context and not a synonym for distinction.

For that matter, I didn't say anyone said they want to lose the team, you did.  Distinction matters.

I said they'd rather lose the team than have this owner.  Which in context means, because he gave us this team.

That's probably articulated better.

I do find it funny though that we are arguing about what the boos mean. That's the state of the franchise now, dissecting the full intent and meaning of the boos. Oh man, this is so sad.

They would have, until he showed he had what it takes on the ice and then they'd have embraced him just like we do with Benson.

I wanted Dylan Holloway in that draft. In hindsight I guess the best pick for the Sabres would probably have been Seth Jarvis.

The only thing that keeps me going is knowing we’ll have the most money to go in on McDavid in free agency. Once he’s here the curse will be lifted and we’ll win a cup (his first)

Trade for him and extend now.

You never said “owner”.  This is the quote I responded to. Were “owner” in there somewhere it would have certainly changed the context.

“I mean, some people saying they'd rather Buffalo lose the Sabres because we have this team? “

Anyway, since you meant something different than what you typed, I’ll move on.

^ Guilty pleasure band, but only in the right mood/time/place. They're not in that upper echelon, but they have a good sound for their time. So wholesome, so winsome.

EXCEPT their "Revolution 9" wannabe track. Oh my. You want Revolution 9, but even less interesting?

The posters and maybe you were one, said they'd rather have the team leave Buffalo than have Pegula own the team.  I didn't mean anything different, I just didn't bother to quote them specifically enough.

Sabres GM Kevyn Adams didn’t have too much new to say at his press conference today . He began playing defense from the top:

“I’m going to go to war with these guys, and I will not change, I will not back down from that. I believe in the people in our room, and I wouldn’t say that if I didn’t know the opportunity we have,” he said.

“I know what it takes to win a Stanley Cup in this league,” Adams continued. “It’s not easy, and you have to be really diligent with the decisions you make. And you put your team in the best position, which we’re going to continue to talk about and debate. And you’re going to work at things, and certain things unfortunately don’t end up working out. Then other opportunities and doors do, so we’ll stay on top of that. But do I believe in this team and do I believe we’re going to be a team that takes a step here.”

There was the usual plea for patience:

“There’s some things that I look at when you try to step back and zoom out and take some emotion out that are positive signs,” Adams pointed out the trades that brought in current players like Tuch, Krebs, Byram and Greenway.

“You have to earn it,” he said. “You become a perennial playoff team, you make playoffs, you have a chance to win the Stanley Cup year after year. You are on less teams’ no-trade list.”

“We don’t have palm trees,” Adams continued. “We have taxes in New York. Those are real, and those are things you deal with.”

Adams cited the Bills as an organization that has become a destination:

“Look at the Bills,” he said. “That would be a perfect example. I would assume that this wasn’t a destination or a place that a lot of people were signing up to when they were in a 17-year playoff drought, and they’ve done a phenomenal job over there. You get Josh Allen, and people are lining up because they have a chance to win the Super Bowl every year. And I think that’s what we’re working to building.”

This is a curious example in my view, one that reflects poorly on Adams’ record. The Bills with McDermott and Beane went to the playoffs in year 1 and continued winning. Adams is in year four  and he’s asking for patience.

There was the usual defense of ownership and spending below the cap.

“Terry’s all in. I talk to him every day. He wants this as bad as any of us, trust me. And he wants to be part of the solution with me to talk about where do we need to find success or what do we need to do to help this team…….we’re not going to go and just make a trade so you guys can say we’ve spent to the cap, if we don’t think it makes sense for now and into the future. You just can’t operate like that.”

Several of you predicted the talking points yesterday. (You must be psychotic )

Someone tell me again how this is not yet another bottom.

I ***** hate this team. I just want to watch good hockey and I'm sick of it always being another team.

Show your work.  I don’t think this is accurate.
