Given the average age of this board I wonder who has the pulmonary function to blow them up? I think @GoPre is a runner. Quote

Not one outside but thousands inside. I have to listen to Adams' comments again addressing the coaching. I thought he hinted that Lindy agreed to the staff as a kind of tryout. That is basically what he said. I feel the plan is Appert taking the helm after Lindy’s contract expires. Quote

Stoner Posted December 7 Report Posted December 7 So yes Kevyn said he and Lindy talked about the staff and Lindy was adamant he wanted to get to know them. Not good, Lindy. Quote

He coached a less talented and less experienced team to within a point of the playoffs. Last year they reverted to closer to their talent level. That wasn’t on Granato, that was on the GM for not having g the courage to step up and bring in players who could help us take the next step. Not saying Granato was perfect, but he squeezed a lot more out of less than Ruff currently is. Sure. But Granato was a limited coach that did not teach winning NHL hockey. That was his shot, fair or not. Quote

I’ll let you know if I get to hockey heaven, and if I do, I’ll inform them that they gave Terry the wrong address. See you on the other side. P.S. I am (probably) joking. I live in “hockey heaven”. East coast of Florida in panther territory. Sam Reinhart lighting it up! Maybe Terry can learn from their ownership. 1 Quote

I think Lindy is a better 'win now' coach, but that doesn't mean Granato was as bad as people think. I listen to Lindy in his press conferences, see what he is talking about. Hear limited things about what he says and does in practice and I truly think the game has not passed him by, I still think he is very capable coach but even he can't get this turned around. I'm not sure there was (or is) any coach on the open market that would 1.) come here and take the job...and...2.) accomplish much more with this current team. Quote

Broken Ankles Posted December 7 Report Posted December 7 I had to watch it until the end. The boo-birds didn’t disappoint. Oh well, the Bills are in town, so easy to move this memory to the recycle bin. Excuse me while I enjoy the view of my lovely palm trees. 1 1 1 Quote

Of course if I was making millions a year in my 20s on a guaranteed contract I don’t think I’d bother me so much, but if it did I would work harder to end it. Quote

They don’t know how to fix it. The players, the coach, the GM and Pegula. They are going to need to make changes. Move out some of the underperforming youth, bring in some much needed veterans. They cannot continue to be the youngest team in the league. It doesn’t work. Is Edmonton still floundering? See who you can pry loose. They need to shake it up, too many passengers. Not enough drivers. 2 Quote
