This is sadly one of the most unlikeable teams in pro sports right now

IMO, Dahlin should have the C removed.

I don't see how this team makes the playoffs.

I feel bad for Lindy / also wish he could get more out of this team

Agreed on all fronts actually started a thread about if we got to the New Year and we failing should we take the C away... didnt go over too well LOL I think they locked it... but in the end I dont see anything at least to this point that says he is the leader...  I think he is the best player or at least most talented... but I dont see him as their leader... if there is anyone on this team that is a leader (BIG IF) ts Tuch... but by an large no one on this team deserves a C... Benson is too young but maybe him down the road...

This is a real risk with how fandom works nowadays. Everything is everywhere. Kids will often gravitate to players, teams outside their market. Especially outside this market.

When I lived in Buffalo you always had fans from other teams in the Aud. Even in Vegas as good as this team is they are losing season ticket holders because 1) it’s too many games and if you try to sell your ticket you are gonna lose money 2) Their really is no benefit to being a season ticket holder, as they don’t really take care of you. I know a ton of people that had them gave them up in a few seasons. Some of these tickets in the lower bowl in practically every stadium is too high. The Golden Knights at Anaheim the other night had tons of empty seats. They want way too much.

I have to agree with one thing I read that Buffalo isn’t a free agent destination for big name players. They have to continue to build through the draft or make trades for some unknowns like Regier did.

Good thing Brandon Beane wasn't in the audience, because he would have laughed this pathetic poser off the podium.

Funny how the Bills are a destination team in the NFL playing in the same city.

It took a few years before the Bills became a destination for UFAs, but that began with being bold.  Taking Josh Allen represented a huge risk for McBeane and Buffalo, but they knew you gotta have a franchise QB.  That said, player talent pipelines are different in the NHL.

I don't see much audacity from the Sabres.  They'd never think of trading an elite player to shake up the organization like Florida did with Huberdeau a few years ago.  There's no incentive because management, as evidenced today, has no concerns with their job security.  And by that, I mean the front office people.

One thing the NHL has over the NFL is they fire people much faster when things aren't working.  Seems like every year a relatively recent coach of the year is getting let go.  They don't wait for the season to end here...Chicago and Boston have already fired theirs and we're one-third of the way through the season.

Adams and Botterill before him were always taking the safe route and it's representative of their personalities.  And that means mediocrity for the franchise.

You kidding? They literally traded Sam Reinhart a 50g scorer and Stanley cup winner to Florida for... magic beans.

Agreed.  I've noticed this as well.   Also, my daughter announced several months ago she was a KC fan because of Taylor Swift.  I told her I'd put her up for adoption if she ever wore KC merch.  Father Baker doesn't intimidate anymore.

What oh what is Pegula going to do when Adams decides he doesn't want to be here?

I can’t get past this

we supposedly neglected to spend this year cause we had to save money for the likes of quinn

So they looked at the available new info this year and decided it supported doubling down on the strategy?

What?

Yeah, nothing like saving money to pay players who cannot help you win and show no sign of being able to do so.

Not even remotely upset that I didn't see any of this.

I wasn’t able to see the press conference.  What did the dipsh$t have to say that was important?

Blah blah blah, Terry’s all-in, everyone has Buffalo on no-trade list because we don’t have palm-trees, young team no need to increase average age, as apparently KA doesn’t know young players are also inexperienced, apparently.

So no, nothing important.

This, and "we need to get better".

We can watch game video replays.

Here is the good news.  We know now that KA is just a yes-man without a clue how to run an NHL franchise.  I think it's time to turn off the games and move on to other things because it's no longer worth our time and money in invest in this black hole.

Until there is a change in the top of the franchise GM and Owner, this team is dead.  Sorry!

Well the other option was a 1 year contract and let him walk if it makes you feel better. Botts giving him a 1 year deal was the mistake, Adams merely continued it due to COVID

And I don't know all the details, but others have said Pegula pretty much shut down all spending when covid hit. Contracts/signings, Scouting, Layoffs all across the organization. A large part of not signing him (Botts or Adams) may have been due to restrictions Pegula put on spending.

Effectively Reinhart was the casualty of COVID for the Sabres. Because I don’t doubt Granato would have wanted to keep him and Adams would have likely pushed for it. Botts however seemed more likely to deal him because of his winger status and likely AAV around 6mil to 8mil which flew in the face of his contract beliefs. The only 2 he gave solid money to was Eichel and Skinner who both had Pegula involved.

I think Renhart was entirely on Kev. He was rebuilding the team from the ground up, and Reinhart didn't fit that timeline.  I don't think the money had anything to do with it because the Sabres were under the cap and ended up taking on a zombie contract.  Add another comple of million to that and you have Renhart's RFA bridge deal.

Of course, being the weasel he is, Adams shifted the blame to Reinhart by claiming that he didn't want to be here, which is nothing more than a bullsh### excuse.

We knew that when they showed that draft video the year they took Kulich and Kevyn is at the table calling Terry and telling him everything he is doing like a little kid trying to impress his dad at the dinner table.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Kevyn calls Pegula to ask permission to use the washroom.

If Pegula sold the Sabres and the team was relocated the Bills would suffer immensely. The fan bases overlap heavily, this is a small market. Pegula would become the most despised person in Buffalo history.

I think he’ll sell shortly after a SB so he can hide behind the good credit. I think that’s been his plan for some time.
