“We’re not a destination, nobody wants to be here” is bulletin board material coaches use from taking heads to get the team going.

WTF is the org supposed to do when the messaging comes from inside the org?

Somebody should ask Lindy about that? WTF do you do as a coach when the call is coming from inside the house?

You make it an us against the world thing which I’m sure he has already done. Its the room against the world. KA and TP are outsiders.

Zucker good play.  Byram too.  Keep skating.

So Punch you came in here during the game to see if KA was still talking?

Dodo says you've wandering into rooms at home too. You OK?

The Buffalo Sabres, like many regular businesses, are failing because the culture that starts at the top with ownership and management is shot through with mediocrity. There is no vision, there is no tenacity, there is no humility. Just poor judgment and excuses. A rudderless ship.

There's a very good chance that someone exists out there who could fix this mess, someone with talent and creativity. But they will never find a home at the Sabres.

Always nice to see your beautiful face.  How are things?

Yep. They only way forward for them is own the situation that they have created. Pawning it off to taxes and insulting the city itself is not an appropriate answer at all.

It's 100% not the city. It's 100% the franchise in the city. But for them to say that acknowledged that they've done a poor job creating an environment that professional hockey players with a choice want to play.

As far as the taxes and palm trees, he should have let the media ask that specific question and then responded with "It's not my position to guess what motivates players with regards to those items. I can't control NYS taxes or the location of the city. Buffalo isn't as big as other cities but it has a lot of great things to offer players. You'd have to ask players what motivates them."

In the end, 14 years of losing and 5 straight under the GM only paints one picture. They've not created a winning team that would interest players who are looking to win a championship. Bottom line.

If you lived in a well-managed and upscale development, would you be interested in moving to the ghetto for the same rental price? It's gotten to the ridiculously low point where your best players want out and players on the outside resolutely don't want in to your place. Pathetic and shameful!

I don't blame any player with a choice for not wanting to be here. How could I?

But that's all kind of beside the point because the quote that really stood out to me in the Kevyn Adams presser was the one about how the Sabres weren't going to make a "knee-jerk or reactionary trade that sets us back."

Two things on this: First of all, there is, at this point, no such thing as a knee-jerk trade for the Sabres. They are sitting on a baker's dozen of playoff misses, with a drought-high point total of just 91 points. Yeah, it all comes with the caveat that they've been in the most consistently top-heavy division in the league for most of that time — their struggles extend a handful of years beyond the present playoff format a lot of people seem to hate — but in a league where at least half the teams in the league have made the postseason in that stretch, you don't want to get into a situation where the Columbus Blue Jackets are making the playoffs more consistently than you.

Literally any trade the Sabres make at this point definitionally couldn't be overly aggressive.

At some point, you have to take it at face value that all these guys who seem to be "underperforming" maybe just aren't that good or lack some level of dimensionality to their games that keeps them from taking a step up to their perceived ceiling

I’m certainly no Adams apologist but he and Pegula need to stay away from the media.  Every time it’s freaking Benny Hill but without the voluptuous women.

The taps on the head need to be a lot harder.
