Hot take: Until this board gets its GDT title act together, the franchise will continue to founder.

Not picking on Caveman... everyone sucks at it.

What exactly are the requirements for this?

Why all the critique on GDTs?  Last week you complained about which team was home, even though there is a schedule on the Sabrespace home page.

Can you clarify all requirements for a proper GDT title.

@Stoner just wants the fans to take some accountability for the failures of the franchise.

Or, he wants me to do it as a Star Wars opening text scroll. 😇

Also did you mean flounder?

Stones and glass houses and whatnot

Founder and flounder both work in this context.

Either sinking ship or struggle and fail (with I think some clumsy inferred). The camouflaged bottom-feeding fish also sort of works if you want to verbify the noun.

Caveman got the most important parts right. He did Team A @ Team B and he put the time. The @ really helps with knowing if we are home or away without looking it up. Sometimes in my old age I forget.

Should be a close one.

We've lost 4 in a row and can't score.

Ehlers is out...Samberg is out and Scheifele is playing hurt.

I wonder if Comrie starts?

Good luck boys and let's hope the refs call a fair game!

The refs won’t matter, but Benson will still get two minors for trying hard.

The big goalie is going to play for Winnipeg tonight.

BUFFALO SABRES VS. WINNIPEG JETS

The galaxy's eyes turn once more to the KeyBank Center, where the Buffalo Sabres, after a disheartening collapse, seek redemption against the Winnipeg Jets.

The narrative continues:

The Shadow of Defeat: Haunted by the memory of a game where victory slipped through their grasp like sand through fingers, the Sabres stand at a crossroads. Their fans, the proud Sabrehood, echo their frustration with a fervor that shakes the very core of the arena.

A Team in Turmoil: Beset by inconsistency and the specter of a prolonged playoff drought, the Sabres must rediscover their unity and passion. The galaxy watches, hoping this team can rise from the ashes of their last encounter.

The Challenge Ahead: The Winnipeg Jets, known for their precision and tenacity, are an adversary not easily defeated. Their recent victories have bolstered their confidence, making them a formidable opponent.

The Quest for Honor: Tonight’s game is more than just a match; it's a chance for the Sabres to reclaim their honor, to prove to themselves and their loyal fans that they can overcome adversity.

The Ice Awaits: As the puck is about to drop, the Sabres must channel their collective disappointment into an unyielding force. The fans, their voices a blend of hope and critique, call for a performance that not only seeks to win but to restore belief.

Will the Sabres harness their inner strength, or will the Jets prove too much for a team in need of redemption?

MAY THE FORCE GUIDE THEM TO VICTORY

That's what AI thinks of Buffalo sports, I guess.

Yeah everyone should know the opponent, location and puck drop.  In the title.  Making us go to another resource to find the info is counter intuitive.

The line up I want to see.

JJP         TNT          Zucker

Benson  McLeod   Tuch

Kozak      Kulich     Cozens

Malenstyn   Krebs   KAB

        Power Byram

        Bryson Clifton

        Gilbert   Joker

               UPL

I thought Zucker looked good with Tage.  I also saw Tuch and McLeod get some chemistry going.

I think Quinn really must sit down, so Kozak gets a game.

Get Cozens off of the dot and off of the power play.   Let Kulich have more ice.

I think Power should also sit, but Dahlin is out so he will play  and he is expected to carry the backline.

I think Gilbert should play, but expect that it will be Johnson instead.

3. Being serious. Is it too much to ask to have a standard format? I know the mods are super duper busy (their work never ends), but they are the ones who should clean 'em up.

Someone should question Punch's motivation for saying the GDT doesn't need to make it clear where the game is. Dodo must be up his ass about caulking the bathtub.

Some version of:

Winnipeg Jets at Buffalo Sabres, December 4, 2024, 7 p.m.

An argument could be made for semicolons.

I am not sure TV/radio info. is even needed given the various ways people can tune in. I would make an exception for games exclusive to one network.

Winnipeg Jets at Buffalo Sabres, December 4, 2024, 7 p.m. (TNT exclusive)

Something akin to a headline (objective and never snarky) could be useful to set the stage (and would be interesting to read months or years later).

Winnipeg Jets at Buffalo Sabres, December 4, 2024, 7 p.m., Sabres look to recover from collapse, avoid five-game losing streak

I get the humor part of it.   I just think if folks are gonna complain about the GDT title contents then lets discuss the key requirements.

It appears to be:  who is playing, where, when, and what the TV coverage is.

Since you are already on a device/computer to be on Sabre Space, you can always google "NHL games" and get the teams, the where, and the when (converted to your current time zone).  Click on the game and you get the broadcast streaming info and other game details.

Or just install the NHL app, it has all this info easily accessible.

What recent victories?  Haven't they lost 4 in a row too?
