They have lost almost every big game they’ve had the last 3 seasons unless the Golden Knights are in town.  Whatever the opposite of clutch is these guys have in droves.  Like serious Small D Energy.

I feel like they usually win these games where they've dropped multiple games in a row, and another loss would really make the wheels fall off. Often they're against top tier teams.

It's "big" games they usually lose are when a win would vault them up in the standings, typically against a lesser team that they "should" win.

If Alex Tuch gets a chance to strip Casey Mittelstadt tonight, you know he’s taking it

Yes indeed.

But to stay in the mushy middle we have to get 2 points tonight.  They are home, they are rested, they have no excuses.

Their best players need to start being their best players, like before Tage got hurt.

But did they go to the Bills game?

Snagged some club seats for 40 bucks a piece... Perks of the team being crap 😂

As always, if anyone wants to meet up, I'm game!

Show me your secrets. Last time I tried, 300 level seats toward the middle were pushing 100 bucks.

The tale of whether the current streak continues, losers lament, or we start another winning streak, fans be cautious.

Honestly, I just wish they would play consistent gritty tenacious hockey as defined by many posters in the other thread. Physical, relentless puck pursuit and finishing more of the body checks they have available but shy away from with the adolescent stick checking only attempts. Thats not the hockey I grew up with hockey.

Better use of my time in a meetup at the gym with my daughter to start a box and burn class and will check the scores later to see which way this team played.

Come to think of it, over half the team could use a fit for boxing regimen to make them more confident in the close quarter situations they regularly play in on the ice.

But that's just my opinion man.

I am more excited for the sun to go down so I can plug in the lights lined up through the woods for the first time. But then again, that IS pretty exciting for me, so not a true dig on the Sabres.

I use different apps, ticket master was ok, but there are some last minute seat apps and sometimes stub hub has great deals too

I'm sitting club level as well. I'll be the guy wearing the Sabres jersey.

Will you really be present lol? If so we should meet up. Apparently there's a buffet in the 1970 club for 55 a person.... 90 minutes full buffet pregame with stuff in between intermission too, so I reserved that for tonight. See if it's any good

Well... unless whatever drinking establishment I go to tonight has a television tuned to the Sabres game I am not sure how much I am going to see.

Got a job offer earlier today, so the wife and I are going to celebrate a bit. I'd love a Sabres win, but right now even the worst loss in their history couldn't get me down.

Tbh I feel like this “have to” talk in basically..probably every GDT this year (?) leads to every game being treated at least as importantly as your standard NFL game. Where after losses we go off the rails, and after wins we go off the rails the other way.

If we win today, do we HAVE to win next game? If the answer is no, then we don’t have to win today. Cause we could lose today and win the next game.

None of the have-tos have meant anything. We are a middling club. You know what we need to see to know the team has changed? Not a 3 game win streak, not a 7-2-1 ten game stretch, not even a half-season where we are “actually” one of the best teams…

we simply need an 82 game season where we finish above 17th

We have lost 3 straight (includes 2 home games).  We "have to" win tonight.

Yes, and we have to win the next game too.

We cannot afford a long losing streak.  We just fell behind Columbus and they have a game in hand.   We need to stay ahead of the Isles, Pitt, Wings, and Sens - all are either tied or within 2 points of us.   We cannot afford to fall behind, we don't have the guns and we don't have the experience.

We will not get to 8th place in our conference without urgency right now and consistency every game.  BTW, 16th overall is not the correct goal.

Do you think they can get hot and win 10 in a row?  or even 6 in a row?   I don't.

Teams that can hover at .500 don't lose 4 in row and they don't lose 3 in a row every other week.

I will! The buffet sounds dangerous but I probably won't be walking into the arena until at least seven so that's...off my plate for tonight. We can grab an intermission beer though!

AVs goalies have been poor- Sabres win 6-4.

We need to get pucks on net early and often.

The "have to" is true; the "will they" is yet to be written.

The important thing is that the Sabres are not flat at the start or at any point throughout the game. If the desperation and focus aren't palpable, I don't know what they're doing. If you make a mistake, make the mistake going 1000 miles per hour.

It sucks that you can only order from the catering menu up there.

I never order, they have a lot of grub options right behind me, but I got access to the 1970 club, it's a great deal, so much awesome food available all game for the one price
