I'm done getting sucked in by these humps. Just assume the worst is coming and you won't be disappointed. If we're in a playoff spot after 82 games (LOL), cool.

The Islanders just stood in the middle of their D zone and dared us to penetrate and we stayed outside and we took useless low quality shots

Thatโ€™s the Sabres preferred way of playing offense against any opponent for years and years now. Lindy is trying to change that but he doesnโ€™t have the players with that kind of intestinal makeup to play differently on a consistent basis.ย

Thatโ€™s how Iโ€™ve treated the last 3 seasons or so. Sabres losses have pretty much zero effect on me. They are just all too common the past 14 years. Bills losses hurt. Sabres losses are expected.ย

I thought with the Vancouver game there were signs that they were starting to get it and they realized they had to fight their way through these kind of games but alas, not to be. Right back to the same old problems. It's not a pretty style of hockey the Islanders play and it's not a lot of fun, but you can't win against it just by trying to skate in open ice. They owned the wall and they play everything down low and they out muscle you on a constant basis. Soft teams struggle with that and that's what we are.ย

Boston plays the exact same way and they are simply going to have to learn to fight through this style if they want to have any hope of making the playoffs at all. Give 'em hell Lindy, I am sure you are more than frustrated by this.ย

I know that the bills try to be pretty supportive of the Sabres and hang out with them a bit, but I honestly think the Sabres roster needs a field trip to go see how a professional team operates. Sitting in on meetings, talk to the veterans and how they prepare, etc.

I think Terry should be the one that looks at it closely. How could one be so good and one be so bad? (Unless you are not trying with the one)

It is where I come from.

not when there are 100 other players in the NHL making more.ย

You are getting the production from him for what you are paying him.

Perhaps, but I prefer my defensemen to play DEFENSE firstโ€ฆ.which they donโ€™t do very well IMHO

They haven't really been the problem with my goals against though.ย  Neither of the first 2 goals scored were there problem. One was a bad bounce off of/near Joki, and the SH goal was the entire unit having their 'box' turn into a triangle...and that was primarily because of the forwards.

Add that to the list of grievances.ย

I had to listen to him on the radio yesterday. I noticed something when I really paid attention. It's a statement and a pause... a statement and a pause... and so on. There's no flow to his call. And he doesn't modulate his voice much. It just doesn't sound like a hockey game.ย

A puck rolled past an empty Vancouver net and he said something and quit... the crowd was going nuts. Dan was quiet for a good 10 seconds.

Donโ€™t forget, he is calling a Sabres game. They are terrible.ย
