Damn

Got outplayed in OT.

Too friggin “patient.”

Canucks, like the Wild, wanted it more than we did, in our own building, no less.

Instead of sending our fans home with a win, we send them home with a loss. There is no redemption in losing.

Ruff owns this loss. He didn’t get them motivated to play to win until the 3rd period.

Then reverts to his “patient” game in OT.

We didn’t even touch the puck until OT was half over.

Didnt aggressively go after the puck. Stood around in reactive mode.

Teams should not be allowed to cross back over  the red line once puck possession is established in the offensive zone

People may hate this but I’d go with an over and back rule too BUT instead of faceoffs, the whistle blows, time stops, the offending team has to immediately send puck down to opposition goal line and then as soon as the defending team touches puck clock starts again and they go on offense. Offending team can’t enter the zone until change of possession. It would be very quick and simple.

This stuff we are seeing now is boring AF.

Good idea.  Even better, you intentionally skate or drop the puck back out of the offensive zone…two minute penalty.

Coming off a west coast sweep, 1 out of 4 points in 2 home games is not acceptable.

It’s a total bummer but i’d still rank this as a good “loser” point.  This team last year would not have come back, and lost in regulation. so at least they got 1.

The core of this club still has problems protecting their home ice. For years they don’t win enough at home to be a serious threat to make the playoffs.

Until this team treats every game like it’s life or death they are going to continue to sputter. Every game needs to be game 7. It doesn’t matter if you’re burned out in the playoffs unless you make the playoffs first. It’s really not asking for much of anything.

Always apologizing for this team, GM and owner. Always. You just might be Mr. Only One Team Wins the Cup Pegula.

Maybe I was Idemo in some sort of fever dream? All the whiney crap about "no effort" ,etc etc etc - the Sabres were one failed to lift backhand from Tage away from the extra point ... oh well.

Before the morality police show up - I am not gate-keeping anyone's reactions; merely commenting on how this team has everyone's emotions going all over the place like a yo-yo. Sheesh.

But they were right?

C'mon now. They don't get credit for calling it over with twelve minutes to go in regulation when it went to OT.

Not atol. The Sabres were down 2-1 with over 12 mins to play and people were calling the game "over" - getting a point from an OT loss is not in any realm the same as the game being over at 2-1. C'mon. I mean. Come. On.

You said they called it a loss.

Their PP is super flaccid. Lots of utterly stupid attempts to pass to the middle. Over and over again. Who drafts these things up? There are 31 other teams to watch and get ideas from.

lol - alright ... without the context of regulation v OT loss, I will concede they were sorta right. I lost track of my original b1tch about people calling it a "loss" and in my mind switched to them calling "over" - which I think is more accurately what people were doing.

I guess the abject negativity got me feeling a little feisty?

PS - no fair actually reading my other posts!

So, Quinn touches the puck before the goal line and the linesmen calls icing. Un(totally)believable.

I'm not a fan of Tage. I think he's a paper tiger and a one trick pony and we'll never win anything with him as our #1 C.

If he doesn't learn from this game, we're screwed. It's the NHL, you can't do the same thing over an over and expect a different result,… you can't even expect the same result, ffs. Defenders learn. They know you are taking the slapper.

He sees the defender sliding to the ice and still fires the puck into him, ending up in a breakaway that ends up in our net. How about pulling up short, going around the floundering guy on the ice, draw a bunch of guys to you, then making a pass to someone wide open.

0-2 since his return. I know it's been against tougher competition. I don't care.

Still glad we got a point.

I thought the days of losing 2 in a row at home were over, I really did. That can't happen again the rest of the season if they have a prayer at 8th.
