Someone explain to me like I’m a child why a 3:00 pm start time on Black Friday is advantageous for the fans or the league?

Gives people that are avoiding the shopping nightmare the ability to avoid the Chefs - Raiders nightmare happening at the same time?

Yeah I didn’t even mention the NFL game happening at exactly the same time.  Make it make sense.

Because Black Friday is fake.  It was made up by retailers to get you out of the house to spend money on your day off.

With the magic of the internet you can still shop from home on Black Friday, in addition you can buy most things at Black Friday prices even after that day.

I wasn’t asking about the validity of Black Friday.  It just happens to be what everyone calls today. If that term didn’t exist I would have referred to today as the day after thanksgiving.  Honestly this is a strange response.  Nowhere in my post did I discuss reasons for Black Friday.  Do you argue politics on the internet? This is like internet arguing 101.  Take a small snippet of someone’s post, change the entire topic of the discussion to validate some other thing that the OP wasn’t even suggesting.

Where is the game?

It took me several visits to this thread to understand this.  I too would like greater clarity in the GDT title as to where the game is being played. I shouldn’t have to decipher what the OP intended with their subtle language.  Just lay it out plain and simple for us simple folk.

Wow, major over-reaction.

Your question is "why was the 3:00 start time advantageous to people on Black Friday".

Why does the NHL schedule any day time games?  Usually to get more young kids into the arena. They tend to do it when school is out and when parents are home.  The Friday after Thanksgiving fits.   The NFL also has no problem scheduling an afternoon game on Black Friday either.

I don't think the Black Friday crowds are such a big deal anymore because there is so much more internet shopping today than back when Black Friday was created, so there is less physical participation, less lines, less traffic.  Which gets to the part of my response which may be off topic to you, that Black Friday is not anything special.  It is merely the day after Thanksgiving.

You wanted it explained to you as a child, but what you seem to be seeking is a high level of precision in the response.   I do hope this is helpful.

Have a nice day.

LMAO at this thread ... game can't start soon enough!

Let’s hope the Sabres have more focus than we do at puck drop.  For those of us who don’t do social media, how about some line updates from the usual suspects?
