Flashsabre Posted November 24 Report Posted November 24 (edited) SJ is going nowhere. Granlund is having a great season with 24 points already without a ton of support, after having a very good season last year. 32 years old, ufa after season. He could fit as 2nd line centre and move Cozens to wing or play LW with Tage and Tuch and reunite JJ Cozens Quinn. Interesting name to look at if rumors are true Sabres are calling around for a top 6 player. Edited November 24 by Flashsabre 2 Quote

I think they tried a game (or part of a game) with Zucker along with Cozens and Quinn. I like the idea, but I don't think it was successful that game. Quote

But he uses the wingspan defensively and is getting better positionally. Nick Lidstrom was never very physical; he was always just in the right spot. He didn't make the big hits or the amazing plays because he didn't have to. I kind of see Power's game evolving that way. He doesn't make the highlight reel play, he just makes the good play. When he misses the play, a lot of the time it's because he got caught out of position, and he's getting better in that respect. He needs to use his body more in corners and behind the net to protect the puck... he did better in this game... but too often he is moved off the puck... yes great stick... he doesnt need to hit guys but when forecheck is up on him he needs to better use his strength and, dare I say, "power" to work through those situations... Once again finds himself at the top of our scoring list, as a defenceman, in second right now. But he does that WHILE being the best defender on our team, and playing the most minutes. While wearing the C. He gets piled on re: that C when we lose, what about when we are stringing some wins together? Does he get credit for leadership? MVP far and away Averaging a whopping 24:45 per game. Next closest Sabre is over 2 minutes less I was guilty of this and now completely admit I was wrong. In a GDT, I criticized him for letting pucks go by him at the blue line and I think it was @Taro T who pointed out how many he keeps in. I’ve been keying in on him ever since, and TT’s right, it’s crazy just how many difficult pucks he keeps in. And he’s great everywhere on the ice. My only criticism of him now is that he still gets nonchalant with the puck every once in a while, and doesn’t pay enough attention to the guy closest to him when making a pass. He needs to shoot through that guy like hi is trying to score on a goalie. He hits their feet way to much for how good he is. 1 1 Quote
