GASabresIUFAN Posted November 24 Report Posted November 24 (edited) Great comeback win on the road with the backup goalie on the back end of a back to back. Well done! Edited November 24 by GASabresIUFAN 3 1 1 1 Quote

That role has been consolidated and enhanced under Ruff. 5 1 Quote
PerreaultForever Posted November 24 Report Posted November 24 Reimer looked pretty good, so no worries on the back up situation. Levi can get the development he needs. I thought the D was a little soft tonight but the team played just well enough to win. Kept moving ahead of Detroit and Ottawa in the standings so that's good. Cozens looked better. Maybe his best game of the year. A successful road trip like this, without our star scorer, that can go a long way to building a winning culture. 4 1 2 Quote

I don't think we played bad tonight but Reimer really kept us in it. It's better. They gritted out a win on a back to back where a Sharks legend had his number retired. Need to clean up the penalties and get more chances still. They have my curiosity, but not my attention. Finally, Jack Quinn is getting closer to being back. He stopped being a liability and was useful at times. Ps. Reimer was great. I guess beating Dallas and then kicking the living hell out of the Rangers were games we were supposed to win too? Quote

Move JJ down to reunite with Cozens and Quinn and get them going again: legit scorer Tage Tuch JJ Cozens Quinn Benson McLeod Zucker Greenway Krebs one of Lafferty/Malenstyn/NAK 1 Quote
JoeSchmoe Posted November 24 Report Posted November 24 Still awesome to get the win, but they pulled this out by the skin of their teeth. They need Thompson to really be dominant. Quote
triumph_communes Posted November 24 Report Posted November 24 Lafferty is the weakest link up front. And he isn’t too shabby just no offensive skill. Good place to be. Get our tall guys back and we are in business. annoying we brought in byram and still have defensive depth issues. Lot of times Bryson did something dumb out there. i go find more defensive depth before I touch the forwards. We have tons they’re all young, let the cream rise 1 Quote
Porous Five Hole Posted November 24 Report Posted November 24 Three games in four nights on the west coast and the Sabres win them all. What a week! Buffalo is in the mix, which was tough to imagine a week ago…we called it the mushy middle. Now we are a playoff team on thanksgiving 🦃. Let’s friggin gooooo. 4 Quote

Popular Post nfreeman Posted November 24 Popular Post Report Posted November 24 Well done Sabres and well done SabreSpace. 1 over DeLuca .500 and coming home. Good goaltending and good coaching make such a huge difference. Krebs is playing the best of his career. I think his goal was the most skilled offensive play I’ve ever seen from him. That was probably the best game of the season from both Cozens and Quinn. Kulich looks more comfortable and aggressive to me than he did earlier in the season. Dahlin has his offensive mojo back but still isn’t playing smart, winning hockey like a captain should. And he and BB are meshing pretty well. Clifton isn’t a star but he is giving them good value and plays with heart. JJP has been very quiet lately. Next up they are home vs Minny, which is tied for 2nd in the NHL with 30 pts, then home vs Vancouver, which is tied with the Sabres with 23 pts, then at the Islanders (which I’ll be attending with a hearty squad of 6 Sabres fans). Go Sabres. 9 2 Quote

Reimer is probably the backup to stick with if/until he cracks. All the bouncing around in his career and maybe he finds a last home in Buffalo. With a healthy team it’ll be fun to see how the lines shake out. Where did Tuch go? Could have sworn he had a SHG tonight. Quote

They all know to watch out for Tage and focus on him first. With him out, JJP gets more attention and "disappears". Quote

gilbert11 Posted November 24 Report Posted November 24 The Sabres won 66% of the faceoffs? Haven’t seen that very often. 5 Quote

D wasnt what Id call soft, more a step slow and tired at times... but then they'd suck it up the next shift when I was expecting them to fold. 5 minutes ago, gilbert11 said: The Sabres won 66% of the faceoffs? That Aud Smell Posted November 24 Report Posted November 24 The Sabres team that played last night resembles a playoff team — especially the late 2nd and the 3rd. On the road out west. Back half of a back to back. Emotional night for the home team with all of their best alums in attendance. And the Sabres - less their 1C - proceed to dominate and win. Impressive. 4 Quote

SwampD Posted November 24 Report Posted November 24 (edited) Man, the Sabres were much better than the impression I got from reading this thread. I watched a much different team than was described here. I never saw a team that looked “like ass”, or gassed or terrible along the boards. Of course there were times they got hemmed in, but that happens every game to every team. I’m really enjoying the type of hockey they are playing right now and it’s not surprising that they are winning because of it. It’s some of the best in close hockey we’ve seen from a Sabres team in a very long time. It’s awesome. I so prefer it the back and forth, lose the puck, bag skates that doesn’t win in the playoffs. I really hope that they are winning in spite of Tage being out and not because of it. Edited November 24 by SwampD 4 Quote
JustOneParade Posted November 24 Report Posted November 24 If my abacus is working correctly the Sabres allowed 4 goals on the 3-game road trip. That’s impressive. 2 1 1 Quote

Great post — with the possible exception of this … question? Thompson should get Lady Bynge (sp?) votes at some point in his career. He’s their 1C. They’re absolutely better with him. I mean … right?
