The team confidence should now be there. Greenway and Tuch will return to a slightly better team.

Reimer is probably the backup to stick with if/until he cracks. All the bouncing around in his career and maybe he finds a last home in Buffalo.

With a healthy team it’ll be fun to see how the lines shake out.

I will say that the player that has benefited the most from Ruff as coach has been Tuch. Looks like a different player, total leader talking to the bench stepping up with clutch plays. Such pride playing for Ruff.

Reimer was fantastic. Solid goaltending will go a long way towards this team taking the next step.

Best game Cozens has played in a long time. Let’s hope this is the beginning of him returning to form.

Clifton has been playing terrific  hockey of late.

Ruff is getting through to them. Hopefully Tage comes back soon and they can keep rolling.

Hmm.

We need another top 6 forward still. We're beating teams we should, which is new. I don't think we played bad tonight but Reimer really kept us in it.

It's better. They gritted out a win on a back to back where a Sharks legend had his number retired. Need to clean up the penalties and get more chances still. They have my curiosity, but not my attention.

Finally, Jack Quinn is getting closer to being back. He stopped being a liability and was useful at times.

Ps. Reimer was great.

The first star of the game without question is Reimer. My second star would be Cozens. What shouldn't be forgotten is that Cozens was winning a lot of draws.

For a good portion of all three games on this west coast trip the Sabres were behind. What was encouraging was that the team stuck to its structured game and kept at it. There was no panic---they just kept playing.

The defensive stick work is noticeably better than prior years. Also, there is more clutter in front of the opposition's net.

The too many men on the ice penalty at the end of the game was foolish. We're fortunate that it didn't come into play in the outcome.

Dahlin played well. My only criticism of him is that he is taking too many foolish penalties. That cross-check penalty at the end of the game was not smart.

One play that embodied the grittiness of the team was Clifton getting hit with the puck, sticking with the play to reach the puck and then sending it down the ice. That was a tough play by a persistent player at a critical time of the game.

It's apparent that what Lindy is preaching is taking effect. Coaching matters.

Great road trip. 3 for 3.

Eager to get Tage back.

Let's keep it going.

Rob has developed the habit of introducing a list of items by saying, for example, "A. The Sabres need to dump the puck in..." He never gets to B. Never.

Tonight he did.

"Owen Power with the great penalty kill play. A. Being in the shot lane..."

I'll take it.
