gilbert11 Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 Based on what we’ve seen so far this season, what are the chances that this crew, on a 2 game winning streak, take San Jose lightly and lay an egg? Quote

I’d say the back to back plus a bit of travel would have more to do with it if they lose. Also Reimer will have an impact on the outcome. Lindy knows these traps. 1 Quote
Mango Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 It’s B2B on a WC trip with Reimer likely starting in net. They can lose this game for a bunch of reasons. 1 1 Quote
OverPowerYou Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 Lindy just might be what we need to barely make that second wild card playoff spot and get swept in the first reound Quote
North Buffalo Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 depends if Sabres can withstand Jose's first period. Quote
SabreFinn Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 San José plays entertaining, so as long Sabres do not join that entertainment they might go home with all six points. Sharks have a good PP and they probably play Blackwood who has been excellent so far this season. Really hope we not see Celebrini and their other kids smiling and joking as they did when they won Red Wings. Quote

I'm thinking/hoping they go with UPL again. He only faced 24 shots last night, there wasn't any travel between the games with L.A. and Anaheim. After tonight they won't play for another 4 nights. Maybe not, but I think even Lindy might think "a slightly fatigued UPL is going to be better than Reimer" 1 1 Quote
DarthEbriate Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 I had this in the around the NHL thread, but it fits better here. What’s the best thing you can do when retiring the number of one of your franchise’s best players? 1) pick a historically crappy opponent, 2) on their second night of a back-to-back, 3) and make sure that that opponent was involved in your retired player’s crowning moment: the Sabrepede. (Thornton got a primary assist) Hope the Sabres have some juice left over for Joe Thornton Day [today], because the Shark Tank is going to be in a silly-nostalgia-frenzy. The good Sabres team needs to show up tonight. Quote

I’d like to think Lindy will wake them up. They got the win last night but definitely took ANA lightly. No excuse not to win this one. 13 minutes ago, DarthEbriate said: I had this in the around the NHL thread, but it fits better here. SABRES 0311 Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 BTW, why not just merge this discussion in the GDT? Quote

CallawaySabres Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 I think people are confusing, taking teams lightly with the Sabres talent, or lack there of. It looks to me like they will be in a battle every night trying to hover around the eight spot. Tonight will be no different. 2 1 Quote

No one is confusing it, Cozens said it himself the last time we got to this point. 1 Quote
Pimlach Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 The Sabres are in a dogfight for the 8th slot. There are six teams bunched together. They are not a juggernaut by a long shot. Every team is capable of beating them on any given night (recall Montreal and a Philly). Tonight will be tough because it’s a road trip back to back , with Reimer in net, and they will be tired. The Sharks will want this one bad for Joe Thornton Night too. They can have an early offensive explosion and win it, but I expect a tough game. Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 Can we get a GDT in the front of this thing. And a tag and some other junk added to the thread title and we are all set. Quote

IF they chose the Sabres for a historical reason it is because Thornton played his 1st ever game as a Shark in Buffalo. Quote

Give UPL a couple of days off from practice after that, if needed. 1 Quote
