Cozens, Quinn, Kulich, Levi

would you do that dare certain people clamouring for Brady but to get Ottawa to trade their captain in division it would hurt. And I don’t know if those pieces would entice them.

Sabres would do that in a heartbeat. Doubt Ottawa would even return the phone call.  Basically, Ottawa would get zero help today.

Lol, the Sabres most certainly would not be doing that “in a heartbeat” or ever.

I’d love to have Brady, but it would have to be a 3 way trade like Ana acquires Thachuk and then trades him to us.  I give this a .01% chance of this happening.

Pretty sure you're being optimistic there.  😉

More like .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001. And that may be an overestimation.

The organization is at a point where it is starting to fill out its roster and building some depth. Thinning out the roster for one appealing player makes little sense to me. (Not saying you are arguing for that but some here are making that argument.) When there are opportunities to make a trade to improve the roster, it should be done. But in general, the GM has staked out a course and should follow through with it.

We're just giving up roster spots. They'd kill to get rid of Cozens contract.

No. Absolutely no. When you are close to getting there it's on the GM to make bold moves to take the extra step.

Quinn (he's an Ottawa kid isn't he?) , Byram and 2 first round picks. Is that enough?

If we made that deal soon I guarantee we'd be in the playoffs.

I wouldn’t add Byram. Hes been playing well. I would offer a 1st and Samuelson in addition to the initial offer

How much would you trade for a wood-chuck Tkachuk if a Tkachuk would chuck-wood here?

Here a chuk there a chuk everywhere a chuk chuk. And it never happened. It. Never. Happened.

I was quoting Rick. His dream was to call the three of them touching the puck in succession.

I have a vague recollection of this.

A stock story he told over the years. Probably on the Top Shelf video they did years ago.

Don't think that would get it done. I don't think we could get rid of any of the pieces we don't like (for various reasons). Byram has the contract issue coming up and you are left with the question of how much you spend on your D when you already have Power and Dahlin making big bucks.

In any event I think it would take a 4 firsts or equivalents type offer not unlike Eichel. Is he actually worth that? No, but also yes. Not in terms of mathematical value, but in terms of being a missing ingredient that takes us over the top, absolutely.

I don't Tkachuk anywhere near the Sabres.  Until he grows up he's a liability on the ice. Not only that, but what the Sabres give up creates more holes in the lineup than Tkachuk fills.

The Sabres get Tkachuk and people are going be mad every time he takes a stupid penalty.

Buffalo is one of the last places he would pick to play in.

He wants to play in St Louis (hometown), or be with his big brother somewhere.

St Louis would have to gut their team to get him.   Florida cannot fit him in either.
