Not to say he'll be 'ruined', but I worry about this with Benson. What I mean by that is that it's a different skillset and approach to the game to be a guy who scores 30+ goals as a pro and a guy who is a defensive pest and chips in with 30 points a season. Benson didn't get, nor will he likely get, a season at the AHL level to learn how to be a first line scorer and then translate that to the NHL level. Instead, he learned to 'survive' as an 18-year-old and will build from there. I am not saying he can't get to legitimate first or second line status, but I do think there is a risk he doesn't get due to not learning how to play that way as a pro. Quote

The NHL is not too big for him. Quote

I don’t think the NHL is too big for Levi, either, but he’s not ready to be consistent without a starter’s workload. And as a goalie he needs to get to 100 professional games before worrying about anything else. It was the whole reason to get Reimer in the first place. Meanwhile, Benson can play every night. 1 Quote
