Social media plays the biggest part of this, allowing everyone to have a voice while the people that run the social media control what voices get heard. Sadly the right extremists have control over some of the biggest social media outlets.

Not only social media, normal media is just rehashing the same old stuff.   Most people in Europe don't even bother watching the news or reading newspapers anymore.    They all just copy paste each others propaganda.

The responsibility is on us as consumers to discern actual news facts based on reliable multiple sources vs. info-tainment and editorialization. While that often takes certain time and intellectual commitments to accomplish, common sense is the basis for it.

they can take anyone, from anywhere, forcible deport them without any legal proceedings and then do nothing... this is not freedom.

And pay $6m per year to a corrupt foreign president to do it, too.

Elon Musk tried to take down video that has Ekaterina Deistler saying she was paid for her vote.

Disgusting. Elections are a farce in his country and not because of the bull$hit, non-existent mass “voter fraud” that the GOP insists always occurs when they lose (funny how it’s never when they win). Instead, elections are a farce because they are blatantly bought by the very rich who expect favors in return. And Citizens United open the floodgates for all sorts of dark money to be funneled to elections from foreign entities, with Russia being the worst.

The principle of “one person, one vote”, the cornerstone of our representative democracy, has been rendered meaningless.

But to actually purchase votes for a million dollars from individual voters raises it to a whole new level corruption.

A CBS report said something about Loomer saying those guys are neocons and/or not being totally in line with Trump.

I don’t know anything about any of them. I know I wouldn’t take guidance from her. Personality aside, this seems like a U.S. person, who is not in an official capacity, collecting information on other U.S. persons wherein that information is used for vetting. There’s actually a more professionalized process that I don’t think she is trained/certified in.

Remember, it isn't about being competent or doing a good job, it's only about loyalty. Trump is a dictator and will not give up power, he's putting as many lickspittles into his admin as he can so he'll be able to stay in power. Jan 6 was his dress rehearsal. Trump views himself as emperor with unfettered power to do anything he wants. You're watching the fall of American Democracy in real time.

Was water pressure on shower heads part of Project 2025?  :eyeroll:

Where are our conservative friends? Surely this level of attack on the 1st amendment is reprehensible from a sitting president.

Trump is a hairs breath away from being a dictator.

"Every department or field found to lack viewpoint diversity must be reformed by hiring a critical mass of new faculty within that department or field who will provide viewpoint diversity"

Gotta tell you if I worked in immunology and the professor is anti-vaccine but everyone else knows they are a quack, I don't think the University should hire another 10 anti-vaccine ***** bags. This is coded language to force University's to hire right wing nut jobs to infiltrate US Higher Education. Trump's regime cannot handle independent thought which is what a "liberal arts" education is designed to promote. This letter is some massive government overreach and abridges the first amendment rights of faculty, staff, and students in multiple ways. One last thing, it references upholding the "Declaration of Independence" which is not a legal document but a declaration of war made against the Empire of Great Britain in 1776.

You know who else attacked higher education, viciously? Joseph Stalin, the communist. Bet you thought I would say Hitler but nope, let's use the Republicans #1 boogey man, "socialism". Anyways, the US is in a dark dark place and it is only getting worse. Federal Agencies that kept us safe and helped us immensely are in the processes of either being shuttered or being run by sycophants without any qualifications. Things are going to start to implode as we head into summer. Trump re-iterated again today that he is seeking to deport US citizens to El Salvador that the president of that country already said he wouldn't send anyone sent there back.

Trump Says He Wants to Send ‘Homegrown Criminals’ to El Salvador Next

Whoever he wants to pretend is a criminal to him will be allowed to send to El Salvador. Caught whispering "You need to build 5 more of these prisons" "This is a different kind of office..."
