People can try and use whatever to deflect from what Trump and Vance did, but it isn't the same and Libs of Tiktok is one of the most biased sources on the internet.

LGR4GM Posted Monday at 07:42 PM Report Posted Monday at 07:42 PM (edited) This is bad https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c2er34w0jgdo Quote US President Donald Trump's administration is pausing its offensive cyber operations against Russia, officials say, as a diplomatic push continues to end the war in Ukraine. The reasoning for the instruction has not been publicly stated, and it is not clear how long the halt might last. The defence department has declined to comment. The directive reportedly came before Trump ended up in a televised row with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on Friday. Edited Monday at 07:42 PM by LGR4GM

That's what I do, on a smaller scale of course. Recessions are yard sales for the well prepared. Every one of my major purchases (houses, vehicles, boat, additions to the house) were made during a recession.

This implies that those who suffer during recessions weren't prepared and deserved what happened to them.

Some.. definitely. Not all, of course. But I think we all know people who stretch their means farther than they should because they have some belief they are entitled to obtain more in their life than their livelihood supports.

People who are responsible with thier money are entitled? That's certainly an opinion, I guess. Perhaps I misinterpreted what you were saying?

SwampD Posted 17 hours ago Report Posted 17 hours ago Nothing Trump is doing will end up being good for the country long term. Seeing how he is running the country so far, it's no wonder he has 6 bankruptcies under his belt. He and all his rich buddies will be fine, but I think we common folk are screwed. But, hey, at least we're back to only two genders. Still waiting for a bill that makes non-whites only 3/5ths of a person again. 1

Perhaps I misinterpreted what you were saying? You did. My commentary is those who like to live beyond their means or believe they are entitled to certain life luxuries despite not having the income to support it. People choosing to have children when they can barely afford to feed themselves. People who choose to pay $150 on sneakers instead something more practical when they lack the disposable income, etc. By contrast, knowing my former company was going through changes I implemented spending reductions in our annual budget beginning in 2023. When I was eventually let go in October 2024 I was in a position to absorb the change. Had I just kept on spending, even reasonably by how I normally spend, I would have been in a much worse situation. This would then be compounded by a poor job market, rising costs, etc. My point is, we live in a very materialistic society and many are not strong enough to resist marketing. As such, people feel justified in spending more than they should to possess items that drive minimal real value. They perceive it as a great value because they are coerced via marketing into a false reality. This may be through the application of social pressure via "status" and not having it should you not have the latest cell phone for example. It's not meant to be a true blanket statement, but more like saying obesity is an issue. There's far too much of it to be relegated to an isolated incident. 1 1

My answer is it depends on where the cuts are coming from. 80K nationwide seems reasonable. So far cuts have not affected my local VA or my VSO counterparts who work with me assisting local veterans. When/if it does I'll be on here bitching about it. Are you aware that most of what you paste on here is from far left bluesky? Not a criticism, just an observation.

For example "end wokeness" "libs of tiktok" or Erik Dougherty are all far right posting sources regardless of where they post that information. Libs of Tiktok for example is a pure rage baiting engagement farm. They seem to have less credibility than AP, CNN, BBC. I even have a fox news one in there somewhere. If bluesky is far left, than what is twitter? 18 minutes ago, Hank said: Fair question. My answer is it depends on where the cuts are coming from. 80K nationwide seems reasonable.
