If Cozens had said, "It was one of those games where we threw everything at them and it just didn't work,…" I would have had no problem with the last game. They ran in to a desperate team that, with 6 previous losses, had to win.

But he didn't say that. He showed his hand that the Sabres are still spoiled prima-donnas who don't know what it takes to win consistently.

They need to wake TF up and start playing way more focused, every game.

No lazy plays. No limp backhand passes to no one.

Just ***** play hard.

Would love Levi to steal one.

This is a MUST WIN, I know there is a thought that it’s too early for that, but it isn’t.

Reimer is in Buffalo and UPL is currently on the ice but most likely sits tonight. The morning skate is about to start.

Do the Blues still play a fairly heavy game?  We are cooked if they do.

Without Tage we don’t have anything remotely looking like a 1st line, and we don’t have spare personnel to plug in and play a different style of game to make up for it.

UPL just did 10-15mins and then left according to reports so I would say that Levi starts with Reimer as backup.

Why? Why are we cooked if someone checks? We've won against checking teams this year when we have bothered to skate and check as well.

Agreed,  when your team constantly reinvents the word "Rock Bottom" you should never have to be humbled. That actually got me angry.

 

Get this last loss behind them and go out there and show the 3 games before that were not a fluke.

No, Thompson did not skate. Technically the morning skate is optional but he's not there and I do not expect him to play.

Back from Vermont trip, was going to go to this one but the wife hinted I'd get full time vacation service tonight since the kids won't be home.  I opted for TV tonight, but if they can time their scoring with my evenings events, well I'll consider it a good omen. Sabres score 5, hopefully I can keep up, the wife likes the renewed optimism at least.

I have no problem with Gilbert's play. The 3 penalty night, 2 of them were seriously weak and should not have been called. He plays a heavy simple game. We need that from our dmen!

Bring earplugs. The music level is pain inducing but the scoreboard is nice.

I'll see very little of this before I need to go skate myself tonight. I'm assuming I will at least tune in for a bit. Who knows...

At this point in time the Sabres are not a priority for me, although in my current situation, by 7:30pm at night there's not much else to do.

The Blues are not the team they were a few years ago.  Not even close.  But yes, they still have a culture of playing heavy and pushing back, but they don't have all of the good clutch players that they had in the past.   Their cup winning coach is in Toronto.   They give up a lot of goals, their goal diff is terrible.  They are in need of a rebuild.  

We should beat them 5-2 tonight, even without Tage.   But that will take a strong game by Levi and some other players to step up and fill the TNT void.

You should.  He also was directly responsible for turning the puck over for Calgary’s first goal and was benched for the entire third period because of it. Putting us to 5 D hurt us a ton late in the game…Byram played 32 minutes and that isn’t good for anybody.
