Sandstrom Injured—Current Goaltending Depth

Rochester Goalie Felix Sandstrom got charged (5 and a game to the Hartford guy) and had to leave the game with help off the ice. 

This organization is now dangerously thin in the crease.  

-UPL & Levi in Buffalo

-Houser in ROC

-And in the East Coast league, some dudes named Justen Close & Matt Vernon. 

-Non NHL rostered: Now injured Sandstrom and 19 year old Ratzlaff. 

-Unsigned draft picks: Leinonen 😬& 18 year old Leeanders

Obviously hope for the best for Sandstrom, but Rochester has an immediate need and if a Sabres goalie needs a maintenance day…look out.  

Maybe Reimer gets waived soon? Please Buffalo & Karmanos don’t compromise the Amerks season with crappy goaltending the rest of the year (Houser is fine, but he is not an all-star nor a bell cow guy).  The team looks very good everywhere else!

Matt Vernon has played well in Jacksonville since last season. He could be a backup for Houser.

I hope you’re right. I think the plan was Reimer & Sandstrom with Houser as a just in case guy for Rochester.  Hopefully the Amerks can outscore their problems, but either way…i think the organization needs another guy.

Did he catch the cross bar on the way down? It wasn’t the biggest of hits.

I think the bigger question is why do both posts mention a season ending injury six days apart?

I’m missing that. The trip video is dated 2023 and the charge 2024.

The detail that Harpur got hurt on 11/3/2023? What details aren’t people looking into?

Maybe I’m missing something here, I don’t know. I just can’t figure out who the jackasses are at this point.

Holy hell! Ben Harpur & the non-innocent hockey criminals.

Two questions: 1) What was the Amerks' response on-ice? Because I don't see any related PIMs in the box score...  and 2) What kind of suspension is needed for a pre-meditated charge of the goalie's head into the crossbar by a 230# D-man? Half a season? Full season? Or NHL style -- 3 games?

I thought Swamp was complaining because he thought Harper had a “season ending” injury 6 days ago, and then played last night. Could be wrong, which would make me the jackass

I still contend he get zero games if it didn’t blow up on social media.  The NHL and AHL are run by dinosaurs.  They weren’t going to do jack because of “the code” or some mumbojumbo.
