Bangarang Posted November 7 Report Posted November 7 Rangers have the 6th best PP and 2nd best PK. We are 31st on the PP (Caps are shockingly the worst) and 24th in PK. Special teams could decide this game. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted November 7 Report Posted November 7 Ideally, for me, the future of the franchise would imminently involve Lindy as president of hockey ops and, following interviews led by Lindy, the hiring of a GM with real credentials. That GM would then hire a new head coach. 2 1 Quote

I wonder if Adams feels a bit like he's being told to go get his shine box when Lindy puts one of Adams' foundational d-men in the press box for multiple games. In addition to McBeane pretty good at their job, I think their best quality is that they are always 2 v 1 when it comes to Pegula. If it weren't for them coming in together and their prior relationship I don't think the Bills work. I think the biggest problem with the Sabres meddling doesn't seem to be so much personnel, rather it seems to retriangulate all the time based on who Terry supports and then they turn on whoever that advisor, GM, or HC is. He thinks he found some secret sauce with Jerry and Adams, but I think Lindy's cache as a HC in this league, prior history with the org and city certainly muddy those waters. My hope for the org is that Lindy can gain Terry's trust back enough to move into some FO, GM, President etc. role and hire a GM, or HC etc. below him so that they are a cohesive voice against Pegula rather than individuals who can be swayed. At this point give me a 92 point team of try hards from now until I die. 1 Quote
HumanSlinky39 Posted November 7 Report Posted November 7 (edited) They were fantastic against Ottawa, but I have no idea if they can carry over that level of play. If they do, they have a very good shot of grabbing a win unless Igor goalies them. Problem is, how many times over the past couple/few years have the Sabres looked like a legitimately good hockey team one game to get everyone's hopes up then come out and laid a total egg the next? Hopefully the other night was them figuring out, but I need to see that level of play/effort for a few games before I get sucked in. Their track record is awful. Believer Posted November 7 Report Posted November 7 Play hard to win. Nothing less is acceptable. Sit the slackers regardless of status. They either get the message or keep sitting them. Ruff wants honest effort for 60 minutes and he wants wins. Force Adams to cull any player from the roster through trade who can’t or won’t buy in to the new Sabres expectation while they still have value. I trust Ruff’s judgement. He knows who he can work with and who he can’t. Quote

He tried being involved and hiring all his hockey friends, he tried alumni, he tried letting his wife run it, he tried outside people. He needs to try backing away and getting proven people to run the team, no matter what team they came from, hire a GM that has already built solid teams consistently and that is respected in the league. 1 1 Quote

Adams hired his old boss Lindy to save his job. We all know that. 1 Quote

PerreaultForever Posted November 7 Report Posted November 7 Rangers are good so idk. I don't expect a win but I really hope the effort level is there and then you never know. 1 Quote
thewookie1 Posted November 7 Report Posted November 7 Give us the fire you did against Ottawa for 60min and I’ll be happy with any result. 1 1 Quote
MDFan Posted November 7 Report Posted November 7 There is some hope that the Rangers take them lightly. That plus another evening of honest effort could well get them the win. But, Shesterkin. Quote
#freejame Posted November 7 Report Posted November 7 I’m going on Monday and can’t get the thought of the building rocking off a three game win streak. Make it happen. Go for their throats. Quote
