It's why you gravitate so hard to Tuch even though he doesn't play a very heavy game. Quinn needs to skate and think less. He had no confidence and doesn't look like he's got the cardio needed right now. He doesn't need someone else to open ice for him, if he does, he's a bottom 6 forward which isn't how he's played up until now. As I said much earlier he looks "weak". Is a strong, physical Quinn who drives the net and plays through traffic ideal? Of course it is. BUT, since he's not that (at least not that now) you either get him out of the line up or you try to build a line with him on it that will open up ice for him and allow him to use his other skills. To the Tuch point, I am always about making lines that function as units, with complimentary pieces. Not just all skill or speed. You need players that bring out the best in each other based on what they individually do best (or don't do). Few players are the whole package. Tuch is a complimentary piece for sure, and so it works. What I see in Ruff's current line juggle seems to echo this idea as well. He's trying, but he's really one player short and if you can believe twitter Adams is apparently out there trying to add a piece. 1 Quote
SwampD Posted November 1 Report Posted November 1 I think once Quinn forgets he was injured, he will be fine. It looks to me like the tandem of injuries he had last year is still in his head. Barring further injury, I think he’ll end up better than fine. 1 Quote

I just can't get there though because after his major injury(injuries), he came back last year and played well, and it wasn't for a handful of games...it was for a third of the season. Even after he missed time in February, he came back for a full month and had 4 goals and 3 assists in his last 7 games. So he comes back from a major injury, plays 1/3 of the season. Misses some time again, but comes back and finishes the season pretty strong. Then has the entire offseason, doesn't have to play a regular season game for almost 6 months, and looks like this? So again, I want to think his injuries are on his mind, but he came back from all of them and put up numbers right away, unless he had another injury in the offseason we don't know about it doesn't make sense. USMCSnyper Posted November 1 Report Posted November 1 Looks to me like he is thinking too much. Simple as that. Quote
