Taro T Posted October 27 Report Posted October 27 Considering the Sabres are in 3rd place, really don't know. 4 1 Quote

Everyone hasn't played the same number of games. By the end of they year everyone will, and point percentage is what matters (I think there was a time a few years ago when a couple teams had games canceled that weren't made up, of there was a possibility they would not be made up, and the NHL said point percentage would determine playoffs, not total points). "Total points" is the the mechanism the standings use to consistency of display of standings. So by point percentage, They are in a 4 way tie for 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th in the division. 1 Quote
Rasmus_ Posted October 27 Report Posted October 27 I'll say, I like the three consecutive wins. Go Sabres! The entire Atlantic Division is separated by a splinter. 1 Quote
Idemo Buffalo Posted October 27 Report Posted October 27 Very unusual to not see them in the Wild Card Standings. Great feeling. 2 Quote

Weave Posted October 27 Report Posted October 27 Let’s not forget that we were about here last season. The first 5-10 games or so are a warm up. Practice heroes tend to look brighter than they really are. The next 10 games start to filter out the chafe as the serious teams get rolling. As always, let’s see what American Thanksgiving brings. Wins in October count the same, which is good, and They appear to be winning in repeatable ways right now. Can’t really read any more into it than that though. The grind is barely underway. 2 Quote
Night Train Posted October 27 Report Posted October 27 (edited) 3 game winning streak is all I'm looking at. Standings this early mean little to me. Focused only on the Sabres Edited October 27 by Night Train 4 Quote

One major difference, they've already had a 3 game winning streak. They didn't get to that until the end of February last season. And they'd only had a single 2 game win streak prior to NYD. And, along the same token, they didn't get a home winning streak (of all of even 2 games) until mid-January. They've won their last 3 home games too. Quote

I think they went 3 months without back-to-back wins at one point. Quote

Won btb as October rolled into November but didn't do so again until the calendar flipped into January. Didn't win 3 in a row until late February. Quote

#freejame Posted October 28 Report Posted October 28 It must have been a blink and you missed it type event because I finally caved and looked at the standings and we’re in 7th in the conference. Can jump into 4th tonight. Quote

Gotta find ways to win. 1 Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted October 28 Report Posted October 28 It feels like we are a 500 team like everyone else. The good news is that they are a 500 team that has won 3 in a row for the first time in who knows how long. Quote
JoeSchmoe Posted October 28 Report Posted October 28 Super early in the season but I can't remember too many times where the out of town scoreboard has been as kind to the team as it has over the past few days. We'll take it. Quote
