Sabres starting to put it together...

That Dahlin pass on the shorthanded goal was just God Awful tho...reminded me of a play you'd see while watching pee wee hockey...just why would you try to make that pass in that position??

The fact they are starting to learn how to both score goals and play defensively well for the first time ever is encouraging

Currently we are in the playoffs and in 2nd place in the Atlantic. Could be playing Monday night for 1st place in the Atlantic.

I genuinely don’t care about what place they are in at this time of the year. I just want to be entertained.

So far so good.

Good win and most important of all we didn't give them a loser point despite Cozens icing it because.....scared of contact/stupid/idk but it needs attention.

PP finally scored and maybe the empty netter will kick start Quinn. Stranger things have happened to get guys out of slumps.

A continuation of what we saw with Dallas, lots of good things, my biggest concern right now is the D is still weak on the back wall and they lose too many puck battles. We will need more forward help there if that keeps happening.

Good way to start the day though (10 am hockey out here).

To me, this game seemed to show that Lindy is rubbing off on the players. Their breakouts, passing and positioning is much stronger than under Granato. Defense still has occasional lapses, but I'm sure that will get worked on. So far, nice to have Lindy back behind the bench. You can see the improvements. (just my opinion). Good move to ride UPL until he needs a rest. He looks like a bonafide #1 and he was winning. Keep going with what's working! Dare I let myself get excited about Sabres hockey once again!!!

But it's a better October than this fanbase is used to in recent times! I'll take it!

Go support this team at the arena fellow Sabres fans.  I so wish I could.

If they keep winning, it will definitely be happening! No worries there!

JJ's become a star. I thought his best game...in Lindy we trust. Why the change in home play is baffling

I think Lindy's sets high expectations.  I also think DG made excuses at times for his team youth and their "feelings", etc.

They still need to get even better at home.   Good teams feast on home games.

Great win but at the end I wondered why Cozens and Quinn were out there with the empty net . Would have thought a checking line would have been on.

Kane has a wide open net and hits iron. Glad it went in the empty net but that wasn't the right players on the ice.

3 in a row. Amazing after the early start to the year.

Night train should appreciate the locker post game.

If Kane hits the net instead of the pipe, you're absolutely correct.  But that's not what happened.  Cozens and Quinn have stuff to work on and a lot of it is confidence.  Quinn getting that empty netter should boost his.

October matters, especially when you have a new coach and captain.

Sure, and  two points in October has the same value as two points in February.   But everybody is bunched up in the standings in the first months, if they lose two straight they could in the basement as well.

I am looking for wins and consistency in their game.   I am looking for more grit and more poise.   They need to show us they have staying power and enough depth for the long season.

It is early, but it certainly looks like they are playing much better.

You obviously don't understand how important winning streaks (and losing streaks) are for a team's confidence, especially early on in the year.
