Getting rid of scorers for guys who "play the right way"

This plan doesn't work.

Skinner, Mittelstadt, and Olofsson put pucks in nets. We had them... All we had to do was not buy them out, trade them, or ice them out on the bench.

Skinner needed to move along. 

Olofsson is not a good player.   He can score in spurts. 

Mitts was the only questionable move.

Casey has 3 goals in 4 games.  

 

Dylan Cozens has ONE point in 6 games.

Players are traded, moved, put on waivers or benched all the time. It is how they are replaced that matters.

They were in Buffalo for years and didn’t make a difference. Changes had to be made. Unfortunately not enough were made.

They could have kept those guys and shored up the 4th line (maybe lose Olofsson just due to roster spots).

It didn't have to be one or the other.

Yes.  Peterka is his replacement on the first line. 
 

Is Benson a better replacement for Peterka on the 2nd line is the real question.
