thewookie1 Posted October 30, 2024 Report Posted October 30, 2024 Would it be wrong for me to suggest him getting a new concussion and hoping his persona flips back to his pre-Hathaway self? Could our 4th line go and track Hathaway down and beat him senseless in a back alley until he gives back Dylan's soul?

mjd1001 Posted October 31, 2024 Report Posted October 31, 2024 (edited) From a strictly personal opinion standpoint: -Me 2 years ago: Cozens should be wing. Sabres: he's a center -Me last year: Cozens style of play suits wing, he doesn't have the mentality/style to know how to play C in the D-zone. Sabres: He's a center -Me earlier this year: He isn't scoring, his whole line is awful, demote him or move him to wing. Sabres: He's a center -Me 4 days ago: He's getting chances I guess, he is streaky, keep him at Center, give him time. Sabres: Lets try him at wing! Edited October 31, 2024 by mjd1001 6

When Benson gets back he will very likely push Quinn into the press box unless Quinn gets it going right away. I will go back to my preseason concern - that center spline is not much at all. My guess is unless there is an injury Benson stays on IR as long as there are no injuries or terrible play by one of the established wingers. If that does not happen then at some point he will come off IR and do a 2 week conditioning stint in Rochester. If all is the same when he comes back he trades places with Juri who goes back down be it on the bench or in the lineup. Odds are there will be an injury and that will open a spot for the return to the bench at least. As far as where he goes it would depend on what you need the most. He does seem more suited to a 3rd line defensive type who you can use on the PK rather than the hope he is going to be top 2 line point producer at the moment. 1

Mustache of God Posted October 31, 2024 Report Posted October 31, 2024 Wasn't Krebs heralded as a set-up man? Wonder if he can create some space to feed Quinn. At the very least, it's refreshing to see Ruff blitz up the lines a bit opposed to Granato stubbornly kept running the same lines over and over when things werent working. 1 1

Expand Because in the NHL, you can retroactively place players on IR. So they were clearly seeing how he progressed and then with only have 2 games in basically 11 days, they put him on IR to open the roster spot and also give him essentially two weeks to recover. Zach Benson is not going to Rochester. It just isn't going to happen. On 10/31/2024 at 7:46 PM, Mustache of God said: Wasn't Krebs heralded as a set-up man?
