No logic there but I WANT to think the Sabres will get back into it, and for some reason when I watch columbus, I have a 'feeling' they are going to be there. Again, no logic, just a feeling that I'm probably going to be WAY off on. Quote

Given the number of teams we currently need to leapfrog (4 plus CBus has a game in hand), and the statistics showing how very few teams not in a playoff position at thanksgiving make the playoffs, I don’t know how anyone can have optimism that this team pulls it off. But by points% - the Sabres were in a playoff spot ON american thanksgiving day ... they are just trying to be on the list of teams in a spot that did NOT make the playoffs twice 😞 1 Quote

Trouba can still probably hack it as a 3rd pairing guy for a bit. 1 Quote

Mr Peabody Posted December 6 Report Posted December 6 Get on the phone with Trouba, convince him to come here, and make an offer to the Rangers that we’ll take him off your hands for player(s) z,y , or z. Quote

Scottysabres Posted December 6 Report Posted December 6 Buffalo would be closest to his significant other. He'll fit right in.... Quote

I would not claim him on waivers if I were Adams. I'm no expert on the Rangers, how they play, or on defensive systems in general. I understand that they play a man to man D-zone system and that Trouba and Lindgren are struggling with it. Either might be fine in a more conventional structure. Quote

Could be a spark if it comes cheap to free. Quote

I think when push comes to shove in the stretch drive the veteran teams will separate themselves from the young up and comers. In general young upstart teams have to leap ahead early and then hang on later in the year. Depth and experience come into bigger focus second half of the year. Trade deadline also separates teams and you can be pretty sure that we won't be picking up any palm tree haters for stretch drive help either. Quote

JohninMinn. Posted December 7 Report Posted December 7 I keep thinking Tage Thompson is going to turn into Mario Lemieux and Levi is Patrick Roy. The rest of the team up their games because of the superstar effect. Quote
