Hunt, 1st and more draft picks for Jiricek.  
 

would be like Rousak and a 1st, which seems to be worth it BUT I'm thinking (hoping) Adams wants to hold onto his 1st round pick in order to acquire an RHD who is ready to step in a contribute right away

I would’ve done that for Jiricek. The trouble is he fancies himself an offensive d-man as well and on the Sabres he’s not getting any PP time.

You are correct about the type of Dman they should be targeting.

Jiricek may turn out to be that guy. I would imagine he sees himself as a 1st pairing, PP Dman in the very near future and that would not happen in Buffalo.

A right handed Mule with 20% more skill and 50% more durability would be the ideal 4D. Along the lines of Pesce. Even an oldtimer like Teppo was would provide a lot.

Though Teppo in his prime was much more the offensive rushing D than this team needs currently.

I don’t know who this year’s modern equivalent is of Teppo. Letang?

Edit: no. Letang has way better offensive numbers. Though Teppo’s prime is dead puck era.

Not exactly torn up about the trade of Jiricek; he would never received the ice time he wanted out of CBJ for.

The return wasn't overly egregious. But the Sabres don't need another young defense player who wouldn't be on the roster. They need older, established, veteran forwards who can put the puck in the net and teach this team how to play hockey the right way.

I'd steer clear. He was one of the people they cleared out in Philly. There's issues.
