How good is Columbus?

9 points in 8 games,  a positive 8 goal differential.  Wins over Colorado, Buffalo, and the last 2 they blew out Toronto and blew out Edmonton.  And they are doing it with "bleh" goaltending so far.

Other thing I am watching is Kaprizov in Minnesota.  He might be what I consider the most under-rated player in the game now.  15 points in 8 games so far. He had almost 50 goals and 100 points last year with missing 7 games.  Since he came into the league, he is 6th in goals and 10th in points in the entire league.  I think most of us on this board know he's good, but he is on the border of superstar/elite...and I don't think he gets that recognition.

Yeah, the BJs are an interesting bunch.  Their record is quite a bit better than expected especially with them playing minus their only star player.  But not really giving them credit for blowing out the Eulers in a game that McDavid broke on his 1st or 2nd shift.

Will be interesting to see how long they can ride the win for Johnny Hockey run.  Expecting they'll be this year's Housley or Krueger era Sabres and the bubble will burst sometime by early December at the latest.

Completely agree about Kaprizov.  Were he playing in a more "relevant" market he'd be feted as the star he really has shown to be.

Columbus is a team I can’t wish anything but the best for. I really wonder though how long they can ride that emotional high. I really don’t want to see them come crashing down as hard as I think they will.

The Caps are playing like the team i wanted the Sabres to be.  A few new guys sprinkled in but they forecheck and cycle relentlessly, solid puck possession,… tonight they outshot the Rangers 46-19. They have a confidence to their game.

He said neither he nor his agent were ever approached by Kevyn to extend him.  I also think he said he would have preferred to stay a Sabre.

I remember that so I guess we take it as truth but these days I don't believe much from agents and/or managers in these type of things.

The bottom line for me is although Mitts is no superstar, the trade was bad for this team and what it needed/needs.
