Amazing how good organizations can move on from star players and continue to win. The top line is fantastic, second line good and then JAG’s. I recall questioning them trading for an aging McDonough. Yet there he is playing 20 minutes of shut down D with Cernak and sitting at a +4. More and more likely the East will have one playoff spot available between 8 teams. The Avalanche won their first game last night, but Georgiev was still awful. His best save percentage in a game so far this season is .861. Colorado has enough talent to overcome that on occasion, but this is trending way worse than NJD from last year. It's coach-firing, playoff-missing level.
