Because of the way the Sabres are constructed top to bottom, more is expected from players lower in the depth chart. But given that we are in the upper 1/3 of the league in GF, I would say the players are generally scoring at the appropriate rates (perhaps they have a few more 1-2 man efforts, which is reflected in their lower than average assist rates i think?) They just need to find the players who can play some team defense!

Yes, if I'm reading you correctly the Sabres construct the team wrong. Their theory is wrong. You cannot build a winning team with 12 scoring forwards and 6 puck moving D men. I know they don't really have that but in many ways it seems to be their goal.

When did Winnipeg get palm trees and get rid of taxes?

Someone needs to let GMKA that the absolute floor is set for Byram.

Edit: LT. You could and should bridge him for less. Or trade.

Wasn't he just hired last year?

Yep and he lasted two in Buffalo

Ron Francis maybe out as GM in Seattle, maybe moved to another position in the front office

Jason Botterill is the new GM in Seattle

JBott -- how about this guy you drafted, Samuelsson? Top pair defender. Smooth skater, tough as nails, crease-clearer. His overall draft number (today) would make his a first round pick. Long term deal already in place. Let's talk.

Wow that Canucks PC:

-threw EP40 under the bus

-letting Boeser go to free agency

-won’t exercise option on Tocchet. Tocchet will determine his future

-top prospect Willander won’t sign and is returning to college

-want to extend Hughes but Hughes wants to play with his brothers so it is out of their hands. 😳

Such a fall from grace from last year’s team. And How The F$&K does a Canadian franchise have 1 Canadian in their lineup?

My take on the Canucks is this. They are going to try hard to trade for the Hughes brothers to join Quinn. If it fails they will deconstruct and tank for McKenna.

What could they possibly trade for the Hughes brothers?

Eichel was Tuch, a prospect (Krebs), a first and a second is that right? I think that was it.

So if you start with Pettersson, 4 firsts, some other prospect(s) and some roster player? idk, anything's possible. As I said I think they TRY and if they can't they will go the other way and send Quinn to NJ, Pettersson somewhere else and tank for McKenna.

I just think Rutherford swings for the fences. He isn't always right, but he goes big. Or at least tries to.

EICHEL was injured and the Sabres wanted to trade him. Different situation. NJ has no desire to trade their young franchise player and young offensive dman brother. EP40 isn’t even a starter.

Just trade Quinn to NJ and get something for him instead of losing him for nothing.
