It was never a “curse” Like most players in the NHL, Skinner never single-handedly tanked a team’s chances of making the playoffs. Dylan Cozens is another such player. That doesn’t mean they are necessarily players you want on your team, but they aren’t playoff boogie men. 1 Quote

Previous day. It was not a draft floor trade. They made it before any players were taken. They made it seem like they were pretty confident they were going to get the guy (or one of the guys) they wanted regardless. Which I always thought was odd because the Luchenko pick was off the board. Also wondered if part of the motivation was that they weren't going to be taking Parekh or an LD due to need? Quote

Yeah, I remember being confused as to why either team would do it at that point, not having any clue how the board would shake out. Quote

Edmonton is a little banged up and just lost Ekholm so it might be LA's turn to win that. Not sure about Avs. Haven't seen them since their deadline deals. Great Raantanen storyline though. Goaltending could shift that one. 7 game toss up. 1 Quote

You're assuming that when Draisaitl, Frederic, RNH, and Hyman (and maybe, possibly, even Kane?) return to the lineup, that Skinner remains dressed. They're all day-to-day except Kane, who was practicing with the team in March. Edited Monday at 02:56 AM by DarthEbriate Quote

Skinner has a history of being a one way player and the playoffs require a full team effort on both sides of the red line. Quote

They got a lot healthier and deeper as the season went on. Dallas does not have the defense to hold them off. 2 Quote

DarthEbriate Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago Well, look at that! Colorado completes game #82 and Landeskog is good to go after multiple years on LTIR, just in time for game 1 of round 1. Funny how that timing magically works out. Quote

And it stinks he's been through so many surgeries; the league is better with him in it. But he's been practicing and traveling with the team for 4 weeks, which means he's been capable of hockey-related activities for months. It's just such transparent circumventing of the cap. And the fix is so easy: either a) once designated LTIR, they cannot play until July 1st/start of next season or b) you cannot ice a playoff lineup that is not cap-compliant. If the Sabres were good, they could sit Power to bulk up all next regular season, and Norris too. Then just unleash them and their $16M in salary at playoff time (after a conditioning stint, naturally). Quote

Chances are they see an AHL roster last game though. Quote
